Always a battle between two top notch programs. I think it will be a high scoring game. Whoever can limit the other team’s running game wins. I know Dinwiddie feels like they missed out on some opportunities this past Friday.
Dinwiddie returns 1 starter on offense and only 4 on defense. Historically Coach Mills doesn’t play a lot of freshman, but there’s at least 5 starting across the board. I think this year’s matchup will be very close and can truly go either way. Both teams are very very good.
Sounds like Salem's team last year. They had a lot of young ones play and two rookie QBs after an injury.
As a Spartan fan, it would be nice to see Salem finally win one of these regular season marquee matchups. Since 2017, Salem’s 0-8 against Dinwiddie (0-3), Martinsburg (0-3), and LCA (0-2).
Through the first three weeks of the regular season, both the Spartans and Generals have played the same three opponents they played last year. Salem is averaging a +45 point per game difference in final score margin over last season; Dinwiddie is averaging -19 in that same measure. That might be an indication that Salem should be able to make this game much more competitive than last year’s. Whether or not that means a Spartan victory, I don’t know. I think it will be a pretty evenly matched affair, possibly high-scoring.

This isn’t me talking bad about Salem, but they make too many mistakes to win big games at this point in the season. I think this team could make a playoff run. Great running back and an assortment of other productive offensive players. Physical defense.

I’ve seen better Salem teams have same issues early and clean it up and win the big one end of season.
This Salem team has out physical-ed and out atheleted everyone they have played so far.
Don’t know anything about dinwiddie but Salems play hasn’t made me confident they will beat a team that can match them physically and athletically.

I’m not going to act like I agree with all the penalties. We aren’t paying the refs like we used to. Budget cuts at central office.

I heard Overstreet is “dinged up” a bit. He dressed out and warmed up, so I guess he could’ve played if absolutely necessary. Fortunately, they didn’t need him. Oliver did a great job at qb. Had a sure TD pass dropped.
He did a great job that’s for sure. Didn’t look like a freshman. You usually know who is going to be the “next” RB at Salem but it will be nice knowing you have Oliver for the next 3 years
