A&M played like their hair was on fire. Their 2 starting guards played great. TA&M coming into the game was known as a defense and rebounding team. They outrebounded by 8, but we scored 89 in regulation.

Bradshaw only saw 6 minutes of action. Dillingham didn't get going til the last few minutes. We still hit 15 threes.

Hopefully we will learn something from this. But stopping dribble penetration remains an issue. The Aggies had 2 guys we couldn't stay in front of. Some of that is youth, some isn't. Luckily not all teams possess the right makeup to create these issues for us in great enough measure to win. But they are out there. We gotta help better.

I'm pretty sure if I was in his shoes and was part of a group of guards that just gave up 59 points to 2 guards in a loss, I would be thinking about how can I improve my defense than shots in March....but that's me.
The problem is Cal preaches Showcase, Players First, Shut The Bennies Up, Titles....in that order.

That sucker was in and out too.
If you are talking about his 3 to win it in regulation, it wasn’t even close. It hit the heel of the rim and bounced way up in the air. Some of you are acting like it went all the way down and popped out. It wasn’t close.

Dillingham was -10 for the game. Sheppard was +4. Just saying
Reed was subbed out on defense a few trips at the end of the game. That +4 should probably be adjusted for not being in on defense.... adjusted number probably about par

On every drive to the basket, then he would miss and fall to the floor every shot.
lol. I can't count the number of times a defender would be stationary in front of the basket on a fast break and he would just put his head down run right into them at full speed and then look puzzled when he got a charge call. He was like an athletic Mr. Magoo.

Why does he have to control it ? Has his dawgness hurt the team?
He has to control his energy. And he will has he carts more experience. We’ve all seen he’s a wizard. But remember Mickey Mouse in Fantasia with the brooms? Yeah, that is what can happen if Rob gets out of control. He’s a great player and we have to live with his mistakes. You just don’t want them to compile.

IF, if if.........they won the Fl game.......if UK had won by one or two you would have still been grumpy.........you still have your silks pulled up too tight over a game that they won..........
Grumpy? No. Concerned? Yes. This is like the 4 or 5th game where we’ve given up a ton of points. Except this time we couldn’t outscore them. ZERO FGs on OT. That’s concerning. We’ve. Got to get something resembling a defense besides a subway turnstile.

He did, but Archie had NO ONE to help him out. He just ended up with the ball in his hands as the shot clock was running out and had to make something happen on his own. Archie would have been a fantastic player on many Cal teams.
yea I was down on Goodwin when he was falling down after every layup but looking back, he had very little talent around him. Our PG was scared to go on the court.

You are 10000% right … the focus on shooting and offense is the problem, right now. I’d rather hear …. “ We know we can score, but that will not matter if we cannot get big stops and big rebounds, when we need to. We simply HAVE to improve on those two parts of the game.”

we have the players and talent that we should blow out teams up until the elite 8 if not more like UNC, Nova and Uconn have done in titles the last 20 years. If we need that shot to fall down in march.......... cal's already done f**** up making what should be over whelming opponents into needing rock fights.

Cal needs to retire immediately if he cant get a title game appearance with this roster. cant do it with this group, he wont be able to ever do it again with any group

that's my feeling too

he'll never develop a veteran team organically, he'll never have a group of guys he takes to their JR or SR year

so this is it. On paper this is as good as its going to get for a Cal team in the current era of NIL/Portal Transfer

no excuses, no bad refs, no single player going off, no injury or mystery illness

its time to go all Nike.....just do it

What’s confusing about that? Rob is very good. Mickey when he first tarted messing with Yin Sids magic had it under control. But as he tried to do too much it quickly got out of control and caused issues. Rob is the same way. He’s very good at what he does but can get out of control quickly. And we love him either way. But he has to limit those out of control possessions. And he will has he gains playing experience and maturity.

I don’t know how to make that any clearer.

Dilingham and the rest of the guys need for Cal to explain why it is important to hit those shots during the regular season games as well as in March in order to get as good a seed as possible.

Sometimes I doubt if he knows it himself. LOL.
