Yep.

Discounting what Pavia did for Vandy, especially that year, is dishonest.

You can make the (correct) argument that he should not have been playing this year. And he’s also a poster boy for pushing things that are ruining college sports. So I will never root for him due to that.
It’s a fair argument that he got a year he shouldn’t have but I don’t blame that on him. He used the rules to get more money. No different than Trinidad at OM and his was even more egregious. But that’s on the state of CFB and not the player.

Diego Pavia had a bigger impact at Vanderbilt. That’s the comparison. It’s not close. You’re just making a dumb argument because you don’t like him. I didn’t like Manziel but saying he wasn’t a great CFB QB would be asinine. Johnny Football was infinitely better college qb than Ryan Tannehill. Ryan went on to get drafted in the 1st rd and has thrown for nearly 35k yards in his pro career. No one in their right mind would argue Ryan was a better college QB. You’re being ridiculous
He’s a D BAG. He deserves all the hate he gets.

Fair enough. I think Trinidad sucks too.

My op:
Pavia was never going to make it in the NFL. He’s 5’8. But listen retards, y’all need to fathom what he just did. Jay Cutler played 12 years in the NFL & threw for over 35,000 yards in his career. He never had a winning season at 17ing Vanderbilt. Never saw a bowl. Diego Pavia just showed up at the shittiest program in CFB history in the toughest conference and went 17-9. It’s 17ing unprecedented. Manziel isn’t a good comp as he had every advantage at A&M surrounded by 5-stars & unlimited budget. You don’t want to like Pavia off the field? That’s fine. Considering what he just did at 17in Vanderbilt, he’s better than any QB we’ve ever had in school history outside of Dak.

Let’s hone in on “You don’t want to like Pavia off the field? That’s fine”

So what was the point of all your post just to end up back here? Genuinely curious

So Pavia being a douche bag was good reason for you to get intellectual circles ran around you in this thread. Got it
The entire thread is about pavia being a douche bag.

You showed up and compared him to Jay cutler and performed internet fellatio on him.

I think my very favorite part of this thread, and possibly of all posts this week, is someone using "intellectual" to describe something or anything we do here.
If it wasn’t for the intellectuals carrying folks on this board, DS would have to slum it with a 50 inch tv instead of the 100 inch oled

Absolutely, OM got him to court in Pittsboro, MS. Try to find that on a map. Had to be a homer OM judge there.

I think this is more of a reflection of them having a win at-all-cost mentality. If we were in the same position, you know damn well you’d hope we tried the same thing.

I read his problem was his attitude. The GMs just didn't like him. He will get a chance somewhere. It might be the UFL.

Wait, you think Vandy is talented? They are consistently last or next to last in the SEC in recruiting. The schedule is about the same. Vandy has roughly 100 years of football history and your reasoning that they had 2 good years isn’t the Heisman runner up, it’s their talent and schedule? Are you high?
I am not going to discount Diego's impact on Vandy as he was very good for them, but I would absolutely argue that the comparative talent level and coaching staff of Cutlers Vandy teams was much lower than Diego's.

I'm not saying that Vandy is now a mid-level SEC talent type program, but they are much closer to that than they were in the mid 2000's
