No more than you think you know what you're talking about in anything you post. as you prove it with every one! Oh you, who thinks he knows more than the experts. To the Freshman locker room you go until you know anything about what you talk about. Buh bye now! LOL

Like him or not, he did about as good as he could. He's not like some of the great linebackers of the past, but I give him credit for hanging in over the years and at least trying to make the team better. Good luck to him, once a Husker, always a Husker, no reason for any further mud slinging towards him.
Another year in the system and I think you’d see a much improved gap filler.... if he does play on sundays I doubt you’ll see him on passing downs.

His issue isn’t measurements or game plans. I hate to say it but the kid doesn’t like contact. I hope he does well, but look @ Mo & look @ DY. Tell me they have the same toughness. I haven’t seen a LB shy away from contact like him, in my life. And honestly there is a lot of times he has a good read for the ball. He just doesn’t play like a LB who wants to hit.

He has talent. But doesn’t have a “mad man” mentality. And I’m not sure that could ever be installed at this point

I agree. Few kids can adjust to so many schemes and styles and play at an All-American level. He has improved a lot this year.

The 2 ILB's in our system have 2 different jobs, Barry's is crash the backfield and cover the edge while Youngs's responsibility is perimeter and coverage as well as run support and crashing the backfield at times.Young is 2nd in Total Tackles and 3rd in PBU's .

Young's a pretty good athlete and he's played much better as of late. As others have said he's played in a bunch of systems since coming here so it may be a matter of him getting reps in a system long enough to adapt.

Happy for him that he's getting another game to play

Yeah he doesn't really like contact and he also doesn't have a very good football IQ. He has the measurables, but you need more than just that. That being said, he has made small improvements from what he was the beginning of the year.

It’s everyone’s responsibility on defense to hit.
I don't know what games you've been watching. I'm a season ticket holder with some pretty good seats and have been to every home game this year and while he may have had flubs throughout the season, he's also laid some pretty vicious hit's on ball carriers and receivers. Don't think for one minute he can't hit as I've seen those hits live. A lot of time's being there you have a better view than watching the game on TV. That is all...GO BIG RED!!

Really depends on where you sit. I go to games and watch on TV. Obviously you are a big fan of DY, good for you. I’m sure he’s right up there with Butkus. Not going to get into it with a child

So watch who you're squakin at! I'm no kid!

Look man, I mean no disrespect to Young or even you. It’s just my opinion that he lacks intensity at a spot that requires it. If you think he’s one of the better ones out there, that’s you’r opinion. But no need to be pretentious. You’ve quoted in multiple post in the last 24 hours that you have “good seats and are a season ticket holder”. Half the board has season tickets. I’m happy you have them.

Happy thanksgiving. Enjoy the game tomorrow. Thank DY for his time, just don’t think we will miss him next year that much. That’s my opinion

I never said he was one of the best, he's had 4 different different coordinators in his time here, and the only one he's had more than one year was Banker and 2016 Young actually had a really good year. Then came dip **** Diaco. Now year one in Chin's, it's like starting over again, and coaching stability has been his real problem. I actually believe just like the rest of the D learning this system, if he had one more year in the system and all of the reps he would actually be pretty darn good next year. coaching stability matters. I've only posted in one other thread that I was a season ticket holder and the very 1st time I had ever done so and that was yesterday.

Well he is by far our best covering LB so.....he just doesn't get in front the camera and say the right things. Our scheme dictates that a ton of pressure is put on LBs...the dlineman do almost nothing right now in the run game, the safeties are held in two deep coverage to protect against the deep ball and seem PA...that means that our LBs have to cover RB, TE, Slot backs, and play the run game...no other position has near the responsibility. So yes, our Lbs will look exposed when a dlineman gets trucked, or takes the wrong slant, or creates the wrong gap...and the LB has to makeup for it. How come nobody comes on here and points out that our dlineman have almost no stops against ball carriers? That they rarely stop a scrambling qb, or make a play on a qb draw...that Chins runs a prevent lane specific pass rush to guard against the qb scramble, yet our dlineman rarely tackles a qb...this puts SOOOO much pressure on our Lbs who have to shed blocks, cover, and tackle in space. Meanwhile our Cbs and Safeties rarely have to worry about these things because they are not involved in the run game on 1st and 2nd down. MOST of our problems stem from a terrible dline...or an embryonic scheme that is still WIP. Case in point...Michigan State ran the same qb draw 3-4 times with 450 pounds of men running directly into young...the dline were manhandled at the point leaving a wide open lane for BOTH players to run at Dedrick...he had no chance...so we ignored the two dlineman that couldn't get off blocks, and focus on Dedrick whose job was to try to slow down two players. Fans need to get a clue.

I'm right there with ya, as I've said the same thing in other threads.

I get a kick out of or it makes me sick that (one of the other) people who have never played or coached anywhere near this level of football think they have the answers and know each players responsibilities and what they should be able not be able to do. Thank you for pointing out what has really been going on with the defense this year. I really do not like calling out players and I am doing that indirectly here but so sick of also hearing about how Stille is doing such a great job. He has made a few plays but more often than not literally takes himself out of plays. And it is NOT doing what he is supposed to do. He does what he does because once in a great while he makes a good play doing it. Yes he hears about it constantly and I truly have to wonder sometimes why he ever sees the field but it is what it is! Stille rarely gets called out on this board and Young does constantly. I would not be surprised if Young actually makes a team at the next level and would be shocked if Stille even gets a shot. JMHO!

Ive seen several players on this defense just completely whiff on one on one tackles this yeat.. young is no different.. i also have seen him make some big plays mostly on pbu...i tell you what i wouldnt want to have to run with slot guys over the middle like rondale moore.. then turn around and have to face 6'9 tes..lol hes got a tough assignment for sure.. i think this defense is getting better. Im seeing more turnovers.. more big hits.. and overall cohessiveness. I think they just need to limit big plays and get a few turnovers.. the offense can help them out too!! Excited for next year

Don’t get the hate for our players. Do you detractors boo when he is on the field? I can’t imagine the people around you like that much. Or maybe you are “fans” that don’t actually go to games on saturday but just sit around your tv bitching?

At any rate, hope he does great and makes some of you eat crow.

Young’s Rivals page listed him as a RB prospect. LB is conceivably not his natural psn.

I think your view is tragic. If a player isn't performing, fans have every right to criticize him. It doesn't make them less of a fan. You need to take off the blinders.
