On the west side (closest to Barnes and Noble), they had two screening stations set up, one only for media, the other had a 20-minute wait at 1:45. No one went through the media screening the entire time we waited, lot of resources wasted on the media checkpoint (I'm assuming most media was in the stadium long before 1:45).

I was at that enterence. Got in line at 1:50. Didn't get to my seat until the second quarter. Unacceptable.

Wow that is absolutely unacceptable. ATL airport can get you through much quicker during peak transit times.

I entered on the northeast. Got in line at about 2:20 and still made kickoff.

I complained a lot about the metal detectors last year, but this was worse than anything I experienced all year --- with obviously a smaller crowd.

I noticed the southeast gate was backed up so I walked around to the northeast gate and got in after maybe 5 minutes

This is my SOP whenever I see a line. Go to another entrance, and you might walk right in with little/no wait.

Not just for football games, but everywhere I go.

Pro Tip: Find the shortest line. I was in line maybe 5 minutes in the SW corner after 30 seconds of assessing traffic flow.

That’s the thing lines from junction at the south entrance are always bad every year. Especially an hour to kick off time. Northeast gate has always been one of the fastest

We entered from the SW gates at 2:20 and waited about 10 minutes. There were about 3 huge lines backed up to Barnes and Noble to get through the gates that we walked around into the Junction where every gate had a much shorter line. The lines were bad but if you just surveyed the area a bit you might have saved some time.

The problem is everyone waited to the last minute. They’ve got to figure out a way to que the lines somehow. The problem is it’s just a cluster of people from all different areas and no “line” and people just hop in from wherever they walk up.

There's an entry by Scoreboard Club that I watched 1 person go through the entire 20 minutes or so I was in line. Brad Peterson came out and met him, young guy probably a recruit. Metal detector and someone manning it but only 1 person used it.

That's true. The Atlanta airport handles about 275,000 passengers/day, and most of those are just changing planes and get to stay in the "sterile" area. Maybe 100,000 have to go through security screening. The airport has many, many more security stations than Davis Wade has, plus everybody's not getting there basically at the same time. Not to mention that the "security" people at DWS don't really have much of a clue as to what they're doing, and things go slowly. Need to get there early.

Well, that, and this year, they decided to block off a large square of space as the “queue” for the SW gate, but they had no one ever open it or direct the flow of people into it. So people just clogged up on either side until they started hopping the barricade. On top of that, they added two merch tents RIGHT NEXT to this area, on a grassy area that usually fills with the line to get into the gate.

While we’re here, Concessions were an absolute joke. No kiosk at all at the top of 100s, and only one window open. And we had plenty of folks walking the aisle selling popcorn, but i don’t recall a single walking vendor selling water or drinks. Never saw a water station around either.
