... that Doug Collins' behavior was slightly odd? No offense to the Collins crew, because this is 2 games now where Chris showed he is an absolute class act. He had a lot to say about us postgame after their win at the RAC, and of course his embrace and words with Pike followed by C and Nigel was REALLY nice to see. But his father acted strange... when they CLEARLY had it in the bag at the end he looked like he was cursing and crying. I get it at other points, obviously. It's his son, and it was a VERY important game. But unless they were cutting back to him on some weird 30 second delay (which I'm sure they weren't, ha), with all his years of coaching and commentating in this sport, you would think he would know when they were in good shape. Sh#t I knew from my couch. Did anybody else catch that? It was like HE was on 30 second delay. Strange.

I agree it looked odd and way out of proportion to what was happening on the court.

Collins was rooting for his son to be successful knowing the importance of the win in securing a NCAA bid for a program that has been waiting longer than Rutgers.

Northwestern has never been to the NCAA. The implications of losing as opposed to winning were huge. One side playing the game with alot riding on it and seemed tight. I would liken this game to the Georgetown game back in the Hodgson years where RU needed a win at home to set themselves up for a ncaa bid and lost a heartbreaker. It was a huge meaningful game that could have swung their season the wrong direction

Now allowing Greenberg to talk over the game for 15 minutes was another story

I just saw clips from ESPN. I find it a tad disrespectful that Collins went out his way to be all nice to our players and coach. I'd like to be treated as their equal and not the B team getting credit for giving the A team a game.

In reality I view NW as one of the teams we can jump if we are going to get relevant in this conference.

Yea I don't like the pity party we get every game. The, "O but they play tough" stuff. But this one I can understand the guy was in our spot just two years ago. So he knows how tough the constant pounding can be from personal recent experience.

I don't see an A-Team/B-Team scenario there at all. When a tight game or match is over, it is common for opponents to share a few thoughts if they respect the opponent. When a coach takes that much time to share his thoughts, it is something that Nigel and Corey will always remember. That's not a pity party, that's sportsmanship.

I think he was just being a Dad, but a Dad who knew all too well that a loss to us would of really hurt their chances to go to the dance.

This is a classy school with a classy coach with classy students/alumns.

I will really be pulling for them going forward.
