I typed in Hunter Dickinson dunk and the very first video was titled Hunter with the dunk show vs Mich St. Might want to leave your racism at home next time.

Amazing to me how many people want some WCSes to come here and block some shots and look cool with tattoos I guess. I’d rather not automatically start 5 on 4 offensively.
I don’t love it and don’t think he’s a great fit but think you have to take him if he wants to come assuming we lose Oscar and Collins in addition to Ugo (which is all but certain). I’d love to have him and Nkamhoua and ideally Dickinson can buy into a lesser role, and we can play Nkamhoua/Bradshaw late in games when we need stops

Yeah, people on here act like Bradshaw isn't a 7 foot shot blocker himself lol. Cal may actually have to coach a little to figure it out but we would have at least one great shot blocker next year. As others have said Dickinson is just too good offensively to pass up.
Sometimes it’s about fit. Especially with Cal.
I would be fine with either one, but I would prefer Ware, because I feel he fits better with the guys Cal has coming in and for the style of play we should be playing with those guys coming in.
I have a feeling we will be celebrating getting Dickinson in the offseason, but during the season we will be complaining about Cal slowing it down and trying to feed the post all the time.
But then again, it might not matter, he is probably going to slow it down and try to feed the post even if Collins and/or Lance Ware are at the 5. Just the way Cal wants to play.
Doesn’t really matter what we want anyway, Cal is in control and his decision making lately has been less than stellar.
The way Cow wants to play and personal he will have out there we need Ware. Go get him!
Feeding the post with a guy like HD is different though. He is one of the best post players in the country and is basically a guaranteed bucket when he gets it on the low block. Oscar in comparison was pretty limited down there due to his height and his arsenal of post moves, but Cal still force fed him way too much.

How do you know he's not a team guy?Some say the same about Oscar.
He’s better, which will help, but we will still be upset when our lightning quick guards are limited because we have a big man camped out in the paint and they can’t get to the rim or when teams have two guys on Dickinson and Cal still tells guys to throw it in to him and we turn it over again and again. Sure Dickinson can step out and shoot the 3, but how often does Cal pull his big away from the basket and let him shoot the 3?

We just watched Uconn breeze through the chamionship with a guy who camps the paint and cant shoot in Sanogo. Our lightning quick guards can drive and dump it off in the low post for an easy bucket. Everyone wants this 5 out "modern offense", but I dont buy it, just look at the succesful teams in the tourney this year.

There are different ways to win. We went several years with small ball teams winning. There’s no tried and true formula for winning a title.
But for this UK team to be the best version of itself, I believe it has to be a team built around the guards.
The last three years, Cal has tried to build teams around a dominant (on paper) big man. The results have been less than stellar.
Let’s talk about UK not UConn. What works for one, doesn’t necessarily work for the other.

Yes, and we have 2 very very good guards coming in along with the top wing in the class. I want the best available player at the 5 we cant get, and that is Dickinson, I dont want to sacrifice taking a lesser player just so we wont play through the post time to time.
.And what the hell has signing all these top players gotten us, one damn championship for 10 million a year from a coach who signs all these players only to see them leave, transfer or sit on the bench refusing to play.
If UNC wants him they will get him. I can't picture a little program Kentucky getting him away from a big time program.
But yet that little program has the #1 recruiting class while that "big time" UNC program has the 31st?
I'm so tired of bragging on recruiting classes that bring us nothing.

I don't know any bigs any better in the portal.Ware is an athlete but lazy and nothing else.
The only hope I have is that we finally have what appears to be an elite PG, for the first time since Fox (I don't know if I can count SGA as he REALLY took off only recently).
Hagans, Wheeler, Wallace were all meh (Wallace as a PG, before anyone tries to get me). Yeah we had some combo guards who were nice in Herro, Maxey and IQ.. But even those guys, it's been several years since they played here. Our last few seasons we just have not had elite.. even great PG play.
If he wants to come you definitely take him, it’s just he will have defensive problems
Dickinson shot 42.1% from 3 this past season. 24/57 in 34 games. He shot better from 3 than any UK player this past season.
