This is interesting as Vitale always defends coaches/programs when he knows nothing will happen. This is anything but a defense of Kansas.

I think it's a bit disingenuous for Vitale to act like he's surprised. We knew it! Everyone that follows basketball knew it. For damn sure, and ex-coach national broadcaster knew it to, even if he only has 1 eye! But not a flippin' peep outta' him.

They aren’t. Kansas has been on probation twice in the last 30 years. Bill Self isn’t Dean Smith. And he was caught talking about paying players which is the biggest no-no to the NCAA.
They weren’t scared of UNC either. They just caved when UNC lawyered up and found a loophole in the rules. If Roy had been caught on tape talking about paying for players it would have been a different story.
It’s good to finally know what went down with Billy Preston. We all assumed that when he wrecked that car it was a very expensive one and somebody found out why he was driving an expensive car.

its (the NCAA) is only selective in enforcing their own rules in cases that involve the three schools above; and there are many more examples other than the ones cited. They are afraid to make an example out any of the three - but sadly I don’t really know why. I just have seen the inability to punish repeatedly.

DV is the same guy who yelled and screamed for Pearl to be fired even before any kind of investigation at UT. Yet, all he can say is "Wow". Good grief, Vitale, don't you think Self should be run out of town for this compared to what Pearl did?

The NCAA is pissed about Bill Self’s attire that night.
