There was a thread a week or two ago about his talking back to Cal. Frankly, I thought the issue was overblown and didn’t think much about it.
Now I think I was dead wrong.
I read Tyler Thompson’s article this morning about her being at the A&M game. If someone can link it, I would appreciate it. Diallo’s actions during the game are concerning to say the least. His running his mouth at Cal. He was the last one to come out of the locker room after half time- even Cal came out before him. Then he argued with teammates during the game and apparently screamed at Green after Hami was called for a foul. Not good.
I believe this team’s issues run deeper than fundamentals and missing shots- it’s a chemistry issue that won’t be resolved until after Diallo is no longer on the roster. There isn’t a player on the team like Ulis to tell him to stfu. Gabriel and Jones are the only ones who play minutes who have been here longer- and neither has the personality or the game to take control of the situation. I thought a long time before making this post, but I think it’s fair opinion on the issue. I hope I am wrong and will be the first to happily admit I am. But this team goes nowhere with Diallo playing a prominent role on the team imo due to his attitude.

Hami seems to free lance more so than any other player on both ends. He doesn't listen and is the main focus of our team's problems when you breakdown Cal's Postgame comments.

It's not hard to figure out that Hami is a BIG factor in our team's lack of progress. His bad attitude is apparent.

Appreciate the honesty and returning to set the record straight. Some people are too quick to say everything is fine and underplay situations. That's the problem with this country in general. Everything is fine fine fine.

Diallo has been an obvious problem for a long time. When he leaves, Jones will spill it.

Why does he continue to start and play so many minutes? I just don’t get it.
Fair question. I love Cal and think he is an outstanding coach. But this lies squarely at his feet since there isn’t a player to take Hami on. Me? I wouldn’t play him period. But then again, will that further deteriorate the locker room? It’s a tough situation.

Right now we’re giving double digit minutes to nine guys. I’d like to see Cal get that down to seven and give those guys an opportunity to gel. Diallo is an obvious guy to lose his clock. I guess SKJ being the other.

Agreed. Once again I hope I am wrong. But proof is in the pudding and his actions speak volumes.

Diallo isn’t even one of the better players on the team. He can’t shoot, and kills our offense and chemistry. Hopefully he just straight up quits, then I’ll start to think this team makes the tournament instead of the NIT.

Hami is not a good basketball player. He can’t even set his feet to dunk. I personally know 20 or more better players from ages 18-40.

Dude I thought the same thing about his footwork when attempting dunks. For someone with a 40+ Vert you'd think he'd be dunking like Williams from A&M.

Example-the break away he had in the 2nd when Williams fouled him. I was ready for him to jump from the free throw line and hammer that bitxh home but nah instead he did some weak a$$ lay up which he missed and honestly I thought that was a clean block by Williams but was bailed out with the foul.

Something is definitely wrong with his mental game.

I think we are all looking for a scapegoat...mob mentality found one.
We wonder why we are slipping on recruiting
Wonder no more
Hami is now
Briscoe
Willis
Skal
Wiltger
Archie
Etc...
Families of recruits research. We are one of a few programs that like to eat our young.
Don't try to convince me otherwise, know that others have pointed this out...

I haven't liked his attitude all year.I don't recall another time with the exception of Carruth, that I didn't like a UK player and wanted him to leave. Now. I don't think Diallo is like Carruth, but I won't be upset when he leaves at all.

Generally I completely agree with you. But this young man’s actions speak for themselves. And they are not team oriented.

With only 3 healthy guards Cal must think he must play some. I wish Baker had been healthy and if that were the case I don't think we would see Hami hardly at all

In all honesty, Diallo can be frustrating to watch. But.... he is not the only one.

I think he feels lost once Shai pretty much took control of the offense. I am sorry I do not see what others are seeing. Has he talked back? Yes so have others. Does he not care about the team? Absolutely he does. Is he a knock down shooter, not yet but he has improved. To put the teams losses on his back is completely unfair. We are a better team when he scores 15 and better.
He just needs to relax and start imposing himself in the game. Take more control.
Whether some of you hate to admit it, he has NBA type talent.
As fantastic as Monk Fox and Bam were they had the benefit of playing with experienced talent. Hawkins Willis mulder and also Briscoe.
There was a five to 7 min stretch where UK were bad. Mix that in with about 4 3's (couple off the backboard) and they lost their way. to their credit they still inched their way back and almost made it a game. This is a young *** team. They have the spot light on them all the team, a group of fans that critique their every mistake. I can see if Diallo was out drinking coming to practice late and not giving a damn. He has done none of that and the guy is trying.UK has the talent the chemistry is not there yet.
******** there are way more teams out there with far more experience who suck and have not lived up to expectations. All teams have their peaks and times that suck. Obviously, right now is a down period. Does not mean they cant get back to playing well.

Some of you should take a ******* good look at yourself and get a life. Bashing some 19 year old because you believe he doesnt care is insane. Im objective when I watch the game. I dont see the lack of effort. He makes mistakes.. certainly NO DOUBT about it. mistakes does not equate to not giving a ****.
few bad games all of a sudden it is cal sucks, diallo needs to go,out team has no talent blah blah blah.

how about some of you grow a ******* a pair and support your team no matter what. The true test of a real fan is how you support your team when things are not going right.
There will be a time Diallo makes you eat your words. When that happens please deactivate your account and go support Western Kentucky. UK deserves better fans than you.

Oh side note, if some players work their *** for that million dollar pay day dont pretend you would not act the same way. These guys do you a favor making your team/school relevant. Appreciate them while they are here otherwise do not get upset when they choose Duke. If i had their talent and read what I see on here I might not sign here either. Lets be honest not like anyone is setting time for a vacation in Lexington, KY.

Could be as simple as Cal preaching that they need a leader on the floor. Diallo may be trying to step into that role and doing rather poor job of it.

He’s playing more than some. He averages 27 minutes per game.

Please. Lol. Diallo’s actions are on live television every game. I’m one of the biggest Cal and player supporters on here- but there is an issue going on here.

Maybe he feels no one is their to support him. If he reads the garbage half you of you write, I'd rebel too. Easy to see what people say to him on social media, the peanut gallery on this board.
He is still a kid. I do not see a lack of effort. Guess what if he has a little attitude when the team plays like ****, that's probably a sign he does actually does care.Until i see him walking down court, laughing on the sidelines and not breaking a sweat, maybe then Ill believe his heart is not into it.
By all accounts, what everyone is saying on here is from a guy who actually cares to much.

Whether he cares or not isn’t the issue. It’s his on court attitude towards the coach and his teammates that is the issue. And it doesn’t have a damn thing to do with what’s posted on this forum.

The other day a poster I will not name (board pump patrol sergeant) was saying that no one knows what Diallo was saying back to Cal all game during the Tennessee game. Seriously, like he could have been yelling back "how about Joe Balogna's tomorrow at 7"?

It's astonishing the lengths some will go to avoid reality.

I take no pleasure in talking about Diallo and hope he gets his **** together. I will be the first to praise him if he does so.

People, if you think this message board wields this kind of power, I don't know what to tell you.

If it is the message board making him feel insecure, then he needs to roll because he's an insecure little baby who is of no use to UK.

You do realize we cant have it both ways right? On one hand, they're ready to be millionaires and don't need to be educated, they are headed to a mans game and the fans that want them back just cant deal with that.

On the other hand, mean tweets and message board posters can make them shrivel up and wilt?

How does that work?
