Correct if I'm wrong but he can't test the waters twice, so if he comes back and declares next year, he can't come back.

Also, did he not promise Cal he would stay as a condition of coming to UK?

Absolutely ridiculous and bullchit. If he ends up staying in the draft then I honestly won't care if Cal leaves anymore. This got old after about year #5 and it's crap now.

Congrats ... this retarded *** post wins over reaction of the year .

And who the f**k are you trying to fool? We've known you are anti Cal for a very long time.. so dont act like its going to just magically start if Diallo stays in the draft

Cal had guys like Lee enter the draft last year just to gauge where they'd stand from an NBA- standpoint. It actually helped many of them in terms of feedback and areas of improvement. I bet Diallo is overwhelmingly favoring a return to UK right now. It certainly doesn't hurt to enter the draft, although I know as fans we'd all like our peace of mind.

This is likely the same thing. If, however Diallo stays in after hearing negative advice from scouts, wake me up next March when it's time for the tournament. I'll probably try skipping the "growing process" for once. That's not a slight against Cal or the system as much as it is a slight against what will likely be my lack of enthusiasm about a Diallo-less UK team. All we've heard since January was how Cal told him, "Don't come here if you won't be here in '17-18." If UK becomes a haven for guys who want to practice against other NBA-level guys for a semester, only to bolt before actually playing here, yes, my enthusiasm will likely decrease somewhat. I'll still support Cal and his system; I'll just consider spending portions of my time elsewhere next season.

I'll always be loyal to UK, and I won't complain about the process (I actually love the OAD system), but if our program loses three guys early who all received word to return? That would probably be the type of thing that would just make me consider spending my leisure time elsewhere until it actually mattered within the season. Losing one guy that way is bothersome, but expected; losing two that way has happened before; losing three that way is just deflating.

I say he returns, however. It's logical. He's a potential lottery pick next season - something Humphries and Briscoe never had a real shot at.

My biggest thing is just the fact. Coach Cal said he has gotten so much better in the last four months but You let him rot on the bench in warm ups. I don't care who you are unless you are injured you are never going to turn down playing time.

If he goes- fine. But please no lectures afterwards about how happy we should be for him and how much we should root for him going forward. I draw the line at "never having played a minute for UK" when deciding if I'll follow players' careers henceforth.

We had really good sophomores in Jones and Lamb, and we had a really good Senior
How fun was tubby and gilespie? Dont be a baby
Tubby and Gillispie suck.

I'll be watching every game as usual, it's just not as much fun as it used to be.

I guess I realize now why I've become a bigger College Football fan the last few years.

Read Diallo's statement. He talks about gathering feedback and a learning process and how this has been the plan all along.

You can't say I'm putting my name in the draft but definitely returning because then teams won't talk to you or waste their time.

He'll be back. And if not, at least he helped with Bamba and didn't cost us anything. No issue at all.

I also think all the "it just takes one team to lie to him" stuff is overblown. Doesn't happen to our guys. Cal is too connected and helps them through the process.

At least he'll have the chance to come back and get his degree for free if he bombs in the league. He would surely deserve something that isn't available to the rest of us...honestly none of them do.
What? He deserves something that isn't a available to the rest of us(do you mean a chance in the NBA or an education at UK? Then, "honestly none of them do." What the heck doed that mean? These kids don't the education or the NBA chance? Again, what? Please explin.

What part of HAMI telling Cal he did not want to be forced to play this season don't you get?

Like I said, if Cal really came to him he would have played. You can't tell me he wouldn't have. Maybe at the beginning of his time here. But you can't tell me before the sec tournament he would have turned down playing time.

If that was the case then play him!! What good does this do with recruiting? We accept players to come in and go to school for half a semester and leave. Come to uk. We will prepare you for the NBA without any games.
What part if HAMI telling Cal he did not want to be forced to play this season don't you get?

I think that's where things will bring out the knives among fans. If he does in fact stay in the draft, it means we had a kid come to campus for one semester, benefit from the resources, and leave without logging a single minute (by his request). I guess you could say he helped us in practice, but would that help for half a season justify what he as a player was given? Debatable. Either way, this thread will be endless

He bolts for the draft and I'll be 100% done with Cal for taking him on and not using him last year when we needed an extra little bit.

Cal has stated he wanted to let Diallo play but Diallo said he didnt want to play this year. Whats Cal going to do??? Kick him off the team for not going in when asked?

I don't have any names, I said it could, didn't say it did. What if we brought in four guys and all four were 5 stars and two of them enrolled early like Diallo and left before they played one game, how would you feel about it? I don't know if this news is true or not, but players do go to other schools when a 5 star player signs with a school they were looking at, you know that

WTH are you two talking about?

The #1 SG in the class wanted to commit and come early.

We had a ride and definitely needed him this coming season. Of course you lock him in.

How you put this on Cal is beyond me. It's not like we missed out on another superstar in this class because of it.

Not one coach in America wouldn't take Diallo early.

Nothing to you BP other than what you post is sane and I am adding on to it. (In my own way.)

I rarely comment on recruiting...because I know nothing about it other than to root for UK and UK Recruits. What I am commenting on is those wishing ill on someone, anyone. (I know many UK fans take slights personally. That is okay.) Don't wish ill or bad on others due to that or even wish ill on the person that seemed to wrong you or UK, OR Cal.

Coach Cal has a mission and he is doing his job and carrying on with his mission. He is to be commended not ridiculed. UK is reaping the benefits. Anyone questioning that needs to reevaluate themselves and what's important. Do the right thing. Do the right thing, Do the right thing. That is never wrong.

Ten times out of ten I will go with wishing someone else well if they are chasing their dreams. (If I hurt in the process what can I do? It will still work out best for me if I don't lose my joy.) Don't get caught into wishing ill on anyone because they don't do what you want or expect. It's just not healthy. Be Good

In the end UK, the fans, and Coach Cal will win. No doubts, none at all.

But if he stays we have the #1SG in the class with a half year's experience...and it cost us nothing. UK can afford to share resources with a potential player.

Not even sign him. Lol. Now dude will get a completely free education anytime in his life he needs it, and for what?

I think most of us knew deep-down that Diallo would test the waters and receive feedback. It makes sense that he put himself out there and get real advice from the industry he hopes to make an earning within.
