Luke Fickell is an interesting name

Would he be interested in WV is the question or is he waiting on another job.
Remember Fickell and a talented Ohio St team in 2011 was 6-6.

If you truly think about it WV may be throwing away 8-4 seasons for 5-7 and 4-8 seasons.

Truthfully if WV hires a coach I say Bo Pelini.
Pelini would in day one make WV into an aggressive football team that plays defense.
But Nebraska ran his name through the mud. He deserves a second chance

Charlie could fit WV. He has that blue collar chip in the shoulder vibe because he is from Arkansas.
At Texas he was a commoner in King's clothing that didn't fit.
Never displayed the confidence needed.

But I think you are trolling for racist sentiments.
Charlie Strong is not a great recruiter.
He failed to secure top 10 class at Texas.
A retard could get a Top 10 class at Texas.
He is a horrible evaluator of talent and made probably about 100 over evaluations and under evaluations at Texas.

Like I said he could maybe play that blue collar vibe at WV but I think there are better coaches to do so.

FACTS:

1. We have never played a complete game under DH.
2. We have never played 2 halves of a season under DH.

1. Tell that to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Pat White and Steve Slaton had us up 28-0 before the final notes of The National Anthem wafted away in the wind.

Tell that to the 2013 Oklahoma State, #11 in the country when Trickett made his first Mountaineer Field start.

Tells that to Arizona State in the Cactus Bowl. The game went back and forth the entire game so that you couldn't take a breather. And David Sills made the game-winning TD catch.

Tell that to Baylor in 2012, when 63 points wasn't enough to beat WVU.

Tell that to Clemson in the Orange Bowl when WVU more than doubled the score against the great ACC team.

Look, no one is unhappier and more dismayed about the Iowa State disaster than me. But the Big 12 is an extremely tough conference, game after game. You play everybody. Nearly every bottom half team wins a game against a top half team.

And it's college football, where the most predictable thing is unpredictability.

WVU is 5-1. If it matches the Geno Smith's team freefall to 7-6 then we'll re-visit this topic in a somber tone. But if my alma mater can beat Baylor and go 2-2 against the November From Hell schedule of Texas -- this, IN Texas, will be a tough one to hook with a W -- TCU, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, that would be an 8-3 season. Not exactly chopped liver.

The way the Big 12 works, with teams surprising each other, WVU isn't out of the Big 12 title game yet. Yes, serious work ahead. But it is doable.

We'll see. Not ready to run up the white flag yet.

Townes, in this world I understand what you're saying, but no racist intent...can't do that. I just thought Charlie should be given consideration should DH go. I also think he would bring some staff that would upgrade from our current OC/DC. I like Charlie and I think his players would want to play for him.

Here’s Oliver’s direct quote:

“I didn’t believe we had an opportunity to win a national championship with the direction of the program. At the end of the day, results matter. And we weren’t getting the results. I want our Mountaineer program and expect us to compete at the highest levels.”

Nothing in there about 9-3 seasons not being good enough. Besides, the Big East was so watered down that Coach Holgorsen won the Big East with zero head coaching experience and Stew’s recruits, something that Stew himself couldn’t do.
