If I was 30 points ahead of my nearest competitor, I wouldn’t debate. Let DeSantis, et al, debate themselves. If one of them gets within 15 points of Trump, then he can consider debating.

Or not.

Primary candidates should have to debate a minimum 12 times.
After the Primary they should debate no less than 12 times.

How would you enforce that? Wouldn’t that bring up the 1st Amendment issues? If you have a right to speak, don’t you have a right not to speak?

The GOP wants all primary candidates to support the nominee, so to get out of debates, all you have to do is not make the pledge.

I like to see debates, but 12 would be way too many for me. I’d like to see 2 or 3 for the primaries and the general election.

Debates are worthless for anything but entertainment. It's mostly just a contest to see who can tell the most lies.

Wouldn't interfere with 1st amendment if it was a requirement to run for president.
I would want to see it held in 6 blue states / 6 red states 10 questions asked by the the speaker of each states senate and 10 by the minority.
12 debates would take a lot of ******** of the table and having the states senate asking the questions would take the media out of it .

A dud, not a dude.
Trump has masterfully accomplished something you malcontents on the TDS infected Left fail to give him enough credit for. He has rebuilt and essentially redefined the GOP base voter. He's literally transformed the heart of the party from "go along to get along" afraid of the main stream media metrosexual country club wimp noodles into brash, bold, & fearless "make no apologies" America first Patriots!

His strong message of Patriotic populism built on a healthy respect for our basic Constitutional rights and economic freedom has made the GOP a political force he alone commands. His GOP primary challengers are just stage props at this point, or mere extras thrown in just to make him look better to the new base voters. This thing is over unless he self destructs or creepy Joe Biden's corrupt DOJ figures out a way to make one of their manufactured alleged "crimes" against him stick and they throw in jail.

Once he wins the GOP nomination, he's going back to the WH.
