I say this as someone who was down on the Miller commit: I think Simpson is a pretty good guy to land. Not a program-changer but someone who should fairly be ranked between 125-175, if rankings are able to reflect reality for 2022 guys which is a dicey bet.

He goes to a public high school in South Jersey so he wasn't really on anyone's radar and then COVID canceled live events for a year. When he started playing AAU again he picked up offers from Rutgers and Arizona State. Say what you will about Bobby Hurley but he has a pretty good eye for offensive talent and he also surely has New Jersey sources telling him which kids are worth offering.

There is no path to satisfy the fans....the earlier or longer that they hear about a name of a recruit, the more valuable the player supposedly is.

Simpson has excellent tape and will be a good get for RU. Brandon Knight spent a fair amount of time watching Simpson closely and he has upside. If he is an inch or 2 taller by the time he gets here, he will be a bigger landing than we imagine.

Simpson was offered by St. Bonaventure that does a great job of landing unheralded players that have huge upside at point guard. Simpson will most likely be a very good get.

Agree with you SirScarlet. Some of our better players were not heavily recruited. John Battle played 10 years in NBA and not heavily recruited.
