Conrad has taken all 1st string center snaps while Farmer was always at guard for all media availability and for others who have been able to sit through practices.
I think Conrad is better than we are giving him credit for. He hasn’t had an actual position, as he was basically Cav’s backup for the entire line. He also was playing hurt since I believe the Oregon game last year with a very bad shoulder and was still basically one of the 5 best lineman, which shows how underdeveloped the line was under previous staff. I do agree I would love for W. Farniok or Raridon to step up and take over the center position (or even H. Miller) so that we could get a true center in there for more than a single season.
I'm not trying to bag on the kid. I'm sure he's a great guy. But if you go look at tape from last year, you'll notice that Conrad had A LOT to do with our offensive line problems. He was either missing slides, picking up the wrong guys, routinely getting buried in a one-on-one matchup or making mistakes on a double team that allowed guys to split it, bumping off his OL helping on the double team, or getting confused about where his help is coming from and this allowing a defender through the line clean. If he is our starter, he will be a liability again this year unless he has taken enormous steps forward.
And I’m not trying to defend the kid. I could care less the names of the starters. I just want the best to play, which is what sounds like will happen. But if all reports point to him taking all first string snaps at center and if you believe our coaches when they say they will play the 5 best guys, then Conrad is either way better than people give him credit or all the others are sh*t.

I'm holding out hope based on what I hear from people around the program. As a whole, I don't think the OL is void of talent. In fact, we've recruited fairly well, all things considered. We both probably saw the same thing while watching last year - standing around, nobody finishing plays, nobody playing with pride, anger, bad intentions. I'm looking forward to seeing how this unit is playing by the time conference play comes around. I'm hopeful. But yes, prayers are always good too.
He’s still there and working away. He’s not gotten much public mention which could mean he’s still behind guys like Alex Davis, but I’m hopeful he’s gonna start to emerge soon.
Well based on the Spring game he has a long ways to go. He seems lost in coverage, is too small to be a run stopper, and for what should be his strength pass rushing I didn't see a whole lot from him.
