The Denbigh Patriots defeated the Phoebus Phantoms 25-21 at Darling Stadium in Hampton. It was the first win by Denbigh against Phoebus since 1997. The game was an exciting, back-and-forth affair with both teams trading points throughout the four quarters.

Senior quarterback Kevin Parker had a rushing and passing touchdown for the Patriots while also playing the entire game at Safety.
The Patriots' first three possessions were inside the Phoebus half of the field, but they could only come away with 3 points on a 38-yard field goal by David Garcia Ramos. However, the 2nd quarter saw two touchdowns from each team.

Phoebus took the lead in the 2nd quarter after a pick-six from sophomore Josh Blackwell, who raced 35 yards for a touchdown. The interception didn't seem to rattle Parker as he led Denbigh on a 70-yard scoring drive highlighted by a 38-yard run. Freshman Kamori Johnson finished the drive with a 13-yard touchdown run.
The lead stood for 15 seconds as the Phantoms returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to regain the lead 14-10 with 7:04 remaining before halftime.
Denbigh again answered on their next possession as Parker found Jeremiah Jones for a 34-yard touchdown completion.
Trailing 17-14, the Phantoms took their final lead with 3:29 to go in the 3rd quarter behind a 10-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback Elijah Paige to sophomore Jeremiah Jimmerson.
Denbigh capitalized on a pass interference call on 4th-and-10 and a personal foul to get a 1st down in the red zone. Parker, who had briefly left the game with cramps, returned to power in from one yard out to start the 4th quarter. The 2-point run conversion by Josiah Thompson gave the Patriots a 25-21 lead with 11:27 left in the game.
The Patriots' defense held the line and forced a punt. The key play was a sack by junior Melvin Jennings, who recorded his 3rd sack. Phoebus reached the Denbigh 24-yard line, but another Denbigh sack cost the Phantoms 15 yards, and sophomore Kaleb Wiggins ended the threat with a great sideline interception.

The Phantoms were called for more than 20 penalties, including four straight false starts, penciled around having 12 men on the field. The final encroachment penalty on 3rd-and-short eliminated any hope of getting the ball back.
