What I saw tonight was this:
1) Desperately trying to project a party of unity despite the obvious otherwise.
2) Very little mention of Obamacare, Green New Deal, and other divisive issues.
3) Speeches by a couple of Republican Biden supporters who turned nobody around and will be forgotten by the end of the convention anyhow.
4) Very uninspiring speech by Michelle Obama that was more long-winded than influential. Nothing like the message she brought to the convention in 2016.
If the rest of the week doesn't get better than tonight, Biden's in trouble. For a leadoff hitter, tonight wasn't a strikeout. It was more like a weak dribbler back to the pitcher. They'd better hope the rest of the lineup can bring something to the plate.
