What you need to do is compare Trump's policy to Dem open borders policy and then look at who is above and below water.
Since when do presidential approval polls only measure one issue? How about we measure their overall approval at the same point in their presidencies for a clearer picture?

🕒 The latest on Trump’s approval rating

Updated May 31, 2026

Today, Donald Trump’s net approval rating is sitting at -19.1 in the Silver Bulletin average. That’s less popular than Joe Biden was at this point in his term (-13.6) and less popular than Trump himself was during his first term (-10.6).

About 48 percent of Americans strongly disapprove of Trump’s job performance. Just 21.7 percent strongly approve of the job he’s doing, while another 17.2 percent only somewhat approve.

As we wrote about over the weekend, Trump’s approval rating is even underwater in Texas. Check out the full article to see how Tuesday’s runoff could affect the race for the Lone Star State’s Senate seat. -EMD, 5/26/26

Our current Civil War:

I must point out that in 2016 a President was elected who was immediately rejected by a certain portion of the population and by state and local governments. They brought criminal legal action against Trump and impeached him before he'd even had a chance to do anything, and accused him of being a dictator and the death of democracy — though it was they who rejected a lawful election and threw the Constitution out the window. Sanctuary laws in defiance of federal authority are in every case the equivalent of besieging and firing on Ft. Sumter.

When Trump won reelection in 2024, the rebels doubled down on their secession from the Union by passing laws against federal officers enforcing federal law within their sanctuary purview, all the time claiming that Trump was oppressing THEM by taking completely proper actions. So by rejecting the results of the election, they are in open rebellion.

And if you say “Trump is no Lincoln” you'd be right. Trump has not arrested and charged with treason the deniers and rejectors of federal authority, including mayors and governors who threaten to prosecute federal officers for enforcing the law. Trump has been far more restrained than Lincoln ever was — though the defiance of the Constitution is no less egregious. Sanctuary laws are exactly the same as secession — a declaration that the federal government has no authority here. They have declared war against the President and openly abused him as has not been done to a President since Lincoln. But the President has not sent federal troops to arrest those publicly guilty of sedition and treason, and take over the defiant government bodies and throw them in jail. They claim to fear Trump's officers — while they are the ones who suppress free speech and try to adjust campaign laws so as to prevent the candidates they oppose from being on the ballot. California doesn't even pretend to be a democracy anymore … but Trump stays his hand.

So, true — he is no Lincoln. He has been infinitely lenient in dealing with people and governments that are in open rebellion against the federal government because the wrong guy made it into the White House.

Beware what you ask for.

This is an important observation that is going mostly unnoticed.

The Supreme Court has decided that Trump must use “regular” armed forces to protect federal buildings and federal officers (ICE), BEFORE he can call in the National Guard.

And President Eisenhower has ALREADY set the legal PRECEDENT.

Do you think Trump didn’t ALREADY know this?

Do you think Trump hasn’t ALREADY done his homework on the law and past legal “precedents?”

Do you still think the Supreme Court is fighting against Trump, in this war against an enemy insurgency, that has infiltrated our entire government?

When the Supreme Court says Trump must use “regular military forces,” BEFORE calling in the National Guard, that gives Trump a whole lot more power over things than most people realize.

Congress cannot stop what is coming.

Congress gave the president authority over one specific group of “regular” military and they can do whatever Trump needs them to do.

“As the president may direct.”

“Focus on the power of POTUS as it relates to the MARINES.”

This is key.
Most people have a very high view of the Marines, and they are a much feared fighting force worldwide. But most people also see the Marines within a lens, where their scope of operation is to land on beaches, fight tough battles and guard important positions.
But that would be a misunderstanding of who the Marines are. Those are all things that the Marines have proven in history to be very good at. Their original function actually is much bigger than that.
Let me offer you a clue, if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

“As the President may direct.”

The Marines were created with one clear purpose: they serve the President of the United States.

“In 1798, when describing the original functions of the Marines, the United States Congress provided that the Corps should serve not only in the ships, garrisons and forts of the United States but, in addition, should be prepared "for any other duty on shore that the President may direct."

“As the president may direct.”

Trump doesn’t need Congressional approval or the permission of any governor in order to deploy the Marines to do whatever he needs to be done, whether overseas or on shore.

This is not limited to combat.

What happens if Soros funded operations get violent and engage in domestic terrorism? What happens if mayors/ police comms/chiefs do not enforce the law? What authority does POTUS have specifically over the MARINES? Why is this important? What is Mueller's background? Military? Was Trump asked to run for President w/ assurances made to prevent tampering? How is POTUS always 5-steps ahead? Who is helping POTUS
————-

Trump has full control over the military as Commander in Chief.
Trump is also a “wartime” president and the Supreme Court knows he’s fighting a war against an insurgency.

Here’s the first part of that same Q drop:

Military Intelligence.
What is 'State Secrets' and how upheld in the Supreme Court?
What must be completed to engage Military Intelligence over other (3) letter agencies?
What must occur to allow for civilian trials?
Why is this relevant?
————-

I believe the “Trump Card” is his power over the Marines.

The Marines took an oath to protect the constitution, just like Trump. Their duty is to fulfill that oath.
Trump has the constitutional power, given to him by Congress, while we are in a state of war, to direct the Marines to carry out their oath in whatever way he thinks is necessary, to protect the constitution and the Republic.

Do you get the gravity of that constitutional power?

Can you imagine the possibilities?

The Supreme Court gave Trump the “green light.”

They did not hack the machines. They did not stuff the ballot box. They printed a fake Republican voter guide, made it look nearly identical to the real one, and mailed it to tens of thousands of voters before a 2024 primary.

It worked. An incumbent won by fewer than 1,000 votes. Now three elected officials in St. Johns County, Florida are facing criminal charges for it.
