...rivals our offensive line. So much hype, so little production. Unsure what these guys did all spring and summer.
O-line had better moments, but overall when it was needed, both folded like lawn chair. D-LINE and Linebackers were horrible today.

why was there so much hype? Didn’t they lose quite a bit of production? Did you expect backups from other schools that never played (Mathis aside) to make a big impact?

Nelson was hyped to be some sort of demon, Mathis would get double digit sacks, Wynn and Drew were going to bolster the DL. I remember the Weird Harold saying the preseason question mark of the DL was now going to be the strength of the D. Hoo boy, the DL was an absolutely joke of a unit, LBs were absolute garbage today too.

Chins lucked out last year having several older extra-year covid defenders who were very good college players but not good enough for the NFL. Covered up the fact that if he wasn’t best man at the HCs wedding, he would have no shot at being a power 5 Def coordinator.

The local media just keeps putting out "everythings gonna be great" reports all spring and fall camp and you keep lapping it up.

If the defense had a pulse today, Neb wins and covers the spread. There was zero penetration up front. The onside kick showed the staff had no confidence in stopping NW.
