Defensive Coordinator

It sounds like Leach is bringing his entire offensive and S&C staff from WSU. Can't say how i feel about this one way or the other, but i think it's imperative he hires a DC who can recruit & develop MS defensive players.

My vote is Charlie Strong or Randy Shannon. They've both been successful DC's and have a good reputation as recruiters.

DC - Strong/Shannon

DL - Deke Adams

LB - Strong/Shannon

CB's - ??? (still holding out hope Buckley will return, but doubtful)

Safeties - Tony Hughes

This staff would give me hope we could field a good defense and would be excellent in recruiting. Has anyone heard any good rumors on this front?

If you want the best recruiter this state has ever seen to retire, then sure you could offer that. He's not going to agree to that and he should not.

I’m not saying take a pay cut, I’m just saying make him director of recruiting and player personnel. He’s never been a great coach.
