People need to relax on the D. We are never going to be a defensive juggernaut. Offense can and will win a championship though if we improve on D just enough. That is pretty much what Duke did 2 years ago and it was enough to win the title.

UK will beat UL on Wednesday (no way they can keep up scoring wise) and win probably almost every game the rest of the regular season going into the NCAA Tourney. Today's win was a gut check win and I'm proud of the guys.

Monk is a legend.

It has too, Jackson had a career night as usual somebody always does and May killed us tipping the ball out and hitting threes. Berry looked like he was never hurt to me, putting up 25 foot, high arching bs shots.

Our D needs a lot of work, BUT UNC has a great offense. We had no one that could guard Jackson and our front court other than Bam still has a high learning curve in front of them (Bam is still not at his peak either of course!).

I see no way UL will be able to keep up with UK on Wednesday. I am sure the game will be close due to chicken**** defense, poor officicating, and nerves from the first road game but UK should win by double digits over the offensively challenged Cardinals.

Well UNC is pretty damn good on offense. But yes, as OP said, just have to be good enough on defense. Much rather have an elite offense than an elite defense. Of course I would like to have both but that's not going to be realistic with this time, it appears.

UNC got in the lane untouched the first half. Second half, UK played better lane D but gave up way too many open threes. Trouble is, no one on UK can stay up on their man without giving up the three. If they get in their grill, the opponent (especially good teams like UNC) blow past them for wide open layups. And we have no rim protectors like in the past.

We didn't gamble for steals today and we outrebounded a really good rebounding team.

UNC's offense is really good and they hit some clutch shots, just like we did.

Instant Classic.

WG got eaten up and Briscoe still can't guard forwards without giving up career highes. Hump is getting worse every game.

The one thing I still see is we really need a small forward. Love me some Monk though.

The defense was well below our capabilities. We got beat down the floor too often. We abandoned the defensive boards too often. We did not handle the screen properly. The list is long. These are not things we can't do. These are things we didn't do.

We'll get better. This was not our best.

There is a concerted effort to open up the college game again this year to make it more entertaining. The refs are allowing absolutely no on the ball hand-checking and watching for freedom of movement infractions.

When the game is called this way and you get two talented and evenly matched teams together, no one will be able to consistently contain the drive. It will be a score-fest and is a hell of a lot better than watching 62-58 snoozefests.

The NBA cleaned up its game a few years ago and people started watching again. Hopefully this happens with the college game as well.

Actually I think we will be a top 5 D team by March . we are damn good now if you look at the stats. People watch a few plays then lose thier **** but how bout Hump's d on the final shot ? How about Bam's D all game? How about fox all game? we have 1 horrible defensive player in WG and then a bad one in Willis . The rest of the team can really D.
