I know Iowa scored their average and we were very shaky at the start of the game with open looks but in the second half we held Iowa without a basket from the 10:25 mark to 2:16 left in the game; that is over 8 minutes without a basket. To me the whole tone of the game changed when the refs just called everything against us to start the second half and we had 7 fouls in the first 5 minutes and they were in the bonus from there out
So while it wasn't our best defensive effort last night when all was said and done we still had a chance to win the game!!

We could have given up down 10 but scrapped our way back. I personally thought Garza in particular; had a lot of illegal screens not called. He hides it well but does it all night. He sets a screen and moves back three steps and stops and that's a moving pick. That's why Iowa was getting open looks for 3 pointers.

We didn't dictate the tempo on defense last night. That was disappointing. I'm glad we stayed in the game but we didn't play our game.

I didn’t think our energy level was quite where it needed to be at times. We also lost composure a couple of times. We did a lot of excellent things too but I think we can be better than that.

It wasn't statistically our best effort because of Iowa's ball movement. Ball always can move faster than the man. Their ball movement got them open shots before players who were playing help defense could get back on their man.

I agree with you I didn't even bring that up not only him but the other guys too; Also that first charge he drew should have been a a foul on him he was moving not as much as the second one they did call on him but watch his upper body he was moving. Refs just flat out bad last night and I think took the gas out of our defense

There was a rule change recently where you can be moving and still draw a charge if the offensive player bowls you over
