Yep. We have this fringe element which is not only dumb, but belligerent and hateful about it. A first ballot Hall of Farmer, who is by any reckoning the best or second best coach in the country since he got here, and they want to run him off. That’s the stupid part. The belligerent part is represented by the story I heard Jones tell while driving home from Atlanta yesterday. One of our “fans”was on twitter harassing one of Cal’s daughters yesterday. The guy informed her that Cal is a POS coach. Out of curiosity Jones looked at the guy’s history, and 3 of his last 5 posts were about the “love of Christ.” So much is wrong with that story it would take too long to list them all. Point is, there’s a segment of society which is just awful. All fan bases contain some of that segment, and since our fan base is one of the biggest, it contains more of them than others. Is it 1%? 5%? 28%? Who knows. They are a loud bunch, when give a chance.....

I'm hoping it's less than 5 percent. I just think a majority of them post here and all over Facebook.

Those are the people who live vicariously through these teams. They base their self worth on UK's success. They take losses personally. They're always looking for that greener grass, so to speak.

I love Cal. Wouldn't trade Cal for anyone not named K. Eventually, he'll leave and unless we're able to hire another Pitino type, we're gonna go back to a more traditional model of building a team up and hoping they're really good as juniors and seniors.

Furthermore, if we do manage to run Cal off and recruiting suffers, I don't want to hear it from any of these chuds howling like wolves right now.

OMG don't mention this. you'll be tossed into the depths of hell along with anyone observing reality!!!

I think Cal has said as much recently himself. Seems like I read it somewhere that we should have more titles. I don't know who he thinks is to blame, but I think he said it as recent as last week. Anyone else hear him or read it?

Duke UNC and Nova are the top dogs in college basketball. UK Mich St and KU better find a place for 4th.
I've got news for you, UNC is not in that group. They are in the second tier and fading fast. They are only relevant because Joel Berry like Grayson Allen stayed long past their prime. Justin Jackson stayed three years if I'm not mistaken and Meeks stayed all four. You let Vando, Washington, and Shai stay three or four years and you'll see us in back to back final fours too. Take away Higgins last year and you wouldn't have UNC above the Wildcats. Reffing calls decided that game not Luke Mays jumper. Duke with all their Nike benefits, commercials, admission office prowess, and media sunshine pumping has made them above us for the moment. All that Grecian formula however is not slowing down the aging process. Time is on Cal's side. Nova is doing great but they have choked in the tourney so many times it's not funny. I give them their due,but UK is still on top of the mountain with them. And don't count out KU either. I don't like them but they find a way to stay as a one seed more than UNC.

That's because the ACC is a far superior conference and the Big 12 sucks ***. Don't kid yourself, KU is protected but not as much as Duke and UNCAA. All the smoke around those programs the last several years and not a whimper from the NCAA.

That is what is so great about this country.....you don't have to watch this train wreck if you don't want to.....of course you wouldn't have anything to whine about......

Yes, he would. He still thinks Ul's banner shouldn't come down.

When it happens, they will all declare how they supported Cal, and UK should never have hired the new guy. Then whoever takes the job, will inherit these complainers. Their glasses will always be half empty.

I’ve never like Cals coaching. He wants to prepare them for the NBA and that’s it. He doesn’t want to coach in a manor that wins games in college. He wants a guy to pound the ball out top then work his magic and drive to the hole. That’s why he wants athletes but not necessarily good college players with fundamentals. He has had the top players in the game every year and blows it. He flat out can’t coach and his system doesn’t work.

Yes, you are entitled to be wrong...I agree.

I agree, he is entitled to his opinion, and to be incorrect, as well. Most of us have been wrong, at times. The problem I have is that he makes up quotes that he says Cal made, to try to prove his point. He said that Cal stated that the players name, on the back of the jersey, was more important than Kentucky, on the front of it. I have asked him about 6-7 times to prove that, or be labeled a lying troll. He hasn't come up with it yet, after about 20 posts. He keeps selectively ignoring it. Then, he states that Cal does not want his players to practice foul shooting, because it is unimportant. Someone else, asked him to supply that quote. He has yet to do so. If he has an opinion, like "I don't think Cal stresses foul shooting enough" well, then ok. That is his opinion. But, he keeps making these fake quotes to try to prove it, and he has gotten called out. Until, he comes up with proof that he didn't make these up, and he can't, then he has zero credibility.

You guys act like a bunchy of whiny teenagers worried about "likes" moronic - at best. 99% of my posts were before your so called stupid and sophomoric likes were implemented.

Oh really? According to the site you have made 3750+ posts since Jan 2016. That is 50% of your posts in the past 2 years, well within the like system. That is as far back as the history shows. You post a lot and the posts are not well received. Your OP and subsequent interaction is a good indicator why. You really must try hard to have that few likes.

My final post in this thread, your numbers are comically off, I've been on here since 2004, I did not post half of my comments in the last two years, just again, comical. I couldn't care less about posts count, likes, etc., I'm a very successful person and I don't need validation from the internet. A few of you sit on here all day long and get off on those type of things, just not my interest or intent.

In closing, and I hope I'm wrong in saying this, we are not going to win another title with Cal at the helm. I don't have a thing against him, I actually like him as the HC, though I just firmly believe his best years are behind him. He's more focused on getting players to the next level and in all actuality, he's done nothing but great things for hundreds of kids throughout his time. I don't like the direction the program is headed, with massive roster turnover annually, though a lot of that is not on him, it's what CBB has been unfortunately reduced to.

Since you are not posting anymore, in this thread, I suppose it is because you are getting tired of being asked to support your claim that Cal made a quote, when you can't. Doesn't matter if you post on this thread, or not. Your inventing of Cal quotes will follow you to other threads.

I'm 59 years old and have been alive for 4 of the eight national championships we've won, the first being in 1978. No one would dispute that UK is a blue blood program; most wins, second in NCs. Yet we've only won 8 and I've seen all the coaches, Rupp, Joe B, Eddie...etc., all the way up to Cal. Winning a NC is tough to do, one bad night, like last night, and you're through; Just ask Coach K, Izzo, Self, Boeheim...the list goes on of supposedly the best coaches in the game that lost when they shouldn't have. Much of what Cal has done at UK is unprecedented. Who would those that are done with him replace him with? Name a better coach. Does he need to do a better job at times? Sure. I don't like the OAD era, but it is what it is. I'm tired of hearing him say how young they are, even if its true, and how he should have called a timeout, he should have, but I like knowing we have a shot at a NC every year. 1948 was the first NC and in the next 70 years we've only managed to win 7 more and only one team has won more in that time-frame. Be careful what you wish for, Billy G could be just around the corner.
I agree I have been listening since the 60's because way back then they weren't on my large screen tv. It is a good run we been on and hope coach Cal hangs around for 2 more titles.

Let’s talk about something else. How much snow did you get on Saturday? I got about 2”. Girl at work said she listened to the weatherman on Friday and he said she was supposed to get 8”.

IMO, that's just how I see it, he never calls the TO late game, unless he's put in a position to where he has no choice. Think back over the years of how many times he said he should've called a TO, he doesn't know what to call or command during one. BW simply out-coached him, as did JUCO Bob, Bo Ryan and many others. He's bringing in far less talent than he has over the past few years and as of now, that looks to be the case for next year as well.

What’s your take on coach K, pal?
