should 16 year olds be given the vote?...keep in mind that potentially a 16 yr old who commits murder in most cases will be tried as a juvenile.....if the 16 yr old can't comprehend that murder is murder then do you want that person voting?
I can agree with most of that...maybe 18 would be a good compromise...if they can be drafted they should be able to vote on the government drafting themGive them that right, however, if they do not vote when they are 16 then they cannot register again until they are 21. Also, to make it fair, raise the draft age to 21 too.
We trust 16 year olds to drive a vehicle at highway speeds, so why wouldn't we trust them to vote? How many true "educated" voters are out there right now?

if you can get shot at in a war at 18 - then you should be able to vote at 18That's why I say raise it to 21.

The part where you left off "DRAFT AGE". :joy::joy:Dear God, that's what I'm saying........what part of "RAISE THE DRAFT AGE TO 21" did you not understand?

I don't like it. I do think a lot of 16 year olds are tried as adults in violent crime cases.should 16 year olds be given the vote?...keep in mind that potentially a 16 yr old who commits murder in most cases will be tried as a juvenile.....if the 16 yr old can't comprehend that murder is murder then do you want that person voting?
lol. No one reads you that closely. The post he responded to was vague.Really? You mean like I posted in my first reply?

You have ALL of my apologies.
If 16 and 17 year olds wont make a splash why the push?18 and 16 are both arbitrary numbers and the level of personal growth and maturity that you gain during that time is insignificant. It wasnt that long ago that you were expected to be married and working a job by the time you were 16. Human brains arent fully developed until you are into your 20s, so I dont see any serious differences in it.
16 and 17 year olds would likely be among the lowest demos in turnout and would also likely vote similar to their parents, making it a wash overall.
Exposure? Trump got a LOT of free media in 2016 with outrageous things.....seems 2020 Dems will try to repeat that.If 16 and 17 year olds wont make a splash why the push?
Yeah, I doubt that. What votes do you get by pandering to people who cant vitw?Exposure? Trump got a LOT of free media in 2016 with outrageous things.....seems 2020 Dems will try to repeat that.
IDk. Never said they were all winning ideas. :joy::joy:Yeah, I doubt that. What votes do you get by pandering to people who cant vitw?
