What’s the story on the Sunday guy? He throw gas? I don’t keep up with State’s baseball recruiting, but I do, of course, keep up with the team. From what I’ve read he’s apparently got plus stuff, but has struggled with control. Is that accurate? If he has a good year, State will be right there with Vandy and Georgia with the best rotations in the SEC. And from what I’ve read, the only team outside of the SEC who could lay claim to best rotation in the country is maybe Louisville. Gosh damn the SEC is loaded in baseball. It’s absurd.

Cerantola has the "stuff" to be an early first-round pick. When he is on, he is a beast. I thought he was about to be our Sunday starter last season, but he seemingly lost the release point on all his pitches in a game against MVSU. He walked 1, hit 3 and allowed two more runs on a wild pitch, all while recording only 1 out in the first inning. He was used very sparingly after that, but looked pretty good the few times he pitched toward the end of the season.

Gold!

I chuckled at this. We have two starters with 1st round "talent". One has durability question marks and the other might blast the mascot on any given pitch. Macleod might be a possible 1st rounder (I need to see a radar gun and more to judge) but damn if we could get all of these guys "right" we would be bad ***.

The WSU hitters impressed me on Friday with their discipline at the plate. Batters seem to be able to tell the difference between Ginn's fastball and the slider and lay off the latter. Macleod's breaking pitch fooled them many times yesterday. If Ginn wants to be a high first round pick after this season, he has got to start throwing that slider in the strike zone occasionally.

I was only able to catch just a little of Ginn’s outing on tv but it looked to me like his fastball/sinker had a lot of horizontal movement but wasn’t diving like it did last year. Listening on the radio, it sounded like he has really developed a good changeup though. Everyone is a little disappointed in his outing but it was the first and it was cold as hell. Can’t read too much into that game.

Cerentola's ceiling is unreal. Only a matter of time before he puts it all together. He just keeps getting better and better every time he goes out there.
