WXII has been the same out of Winston-Salem. They used to have great coverage now I feel the NWC and MVC teams other than Mayberry and Mt. Pilot get little coverage anymore. I don't even think they do the big pigskin patio show like they used to.

Spectrum News 1 had good coverage of all the East & West teams. I got on a little late but saw 1A & 2A west coverage and some East games. I got to see Tarboro & Mount Airy coverage.

Other than radio stations that have covered their home teams for many years Newspapers & TV high school coverage is down because of the lack of sponsors/advertisers. When I was the photographer at The Mount Airy News in most of the 1990s they had 3 sports writers and I believe 7 news. Now I here only one sport and 3 news writers. We also were a 7-day paper now they are down to 3 days.

They don’t, most coaches in the area is glad also. Hated having to load buses up and go down there and not get back to school until after midnight

Their best coverage is of the Wake county schools. Their crazy bias towards them
Even their Wake coverage has went downhill in past years. Multiple Wake schools changed coaches this past year, zero coverage/stories on them. Maybe about half of the schools in the county got a football "preview" article in preseason and the highlights are usually a mixed bag. Trying to expand to state-wide coverage probably stretched them too thin

No one actually hires quality sports anchors anymore. The days of the lead sports anchor is history. Sports is an afterthought run by interchangeable reporters and interns now.

WBTV in Charlotte use to be the best in our area for years but it's coverage has dropped off also. They had a big "Football Friday Night" show that was awesome. A ton of highlights with numerous very entertaining reporters. It's still goes by the same name but show isn't even close to what it use to be. Bare bones highlights and fewer reporters at games. Not sure if it's budget issues or just lack of interest given towards sports.

it hasn’t been the same since RAYCOM left and Gray took over. yet they still tout it as “Emmy Award winning FFN”, which is laughable to me. it’s now, what, 15 minutes long maybe?

15 minutes long and then if you want to see the last 15 minutes you have to go to their social media accounts to watch. Absolutely stupid. It's definitely not award winning anymore.

Anybody know what channel Spectrum will be using to broadcast the game?
