I’d like to begin with PISS ON INDIANA!
Secondly, I couldn’t believe seeing the calls on this board to get rid of Calipari. He’s a Hall Of Fame coach! He took college basketball recruiting to a level never seen before. So much so, Coach K changed his strategy to mirror coach Cal. Heck, I’d be honored if Coach K copied my strategy of taking a dump. There may be some underlying X’s and O’s problems with Cal’s coaching (not many) and he may be stubborn as to the type of kid he recruits and style played, but there are not many coaches I’d rather have on my sidelines! The biggest factor is the lack of unity born from early time together along with several cupcakes to build confidence in these young kids. Covid negated all that and the kids are feeling more pressure than they ever have after being able to succeed so far based on talent alone. Cal will be fine and UK b-ball is the model of which every team in the US strives to be and one challenging season won’t change that.

Enjoy your weekend. Iowa b-ball has been dog piss for 30 years and we can’t defend ourselves out of a wet paper sack so tourney success this season is questionable.

I’ll leave you with one of the greatest philosophers of our time, Bluto Blutarski:
“ Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!...

It ain't over now, 'cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'. Who's with me? Let's go!”

I’d like to close with PISS ON INDIANA!

I don’t mind or care about K copying his strategy. Many of us do mind K copying it then beating Cal at his own game in terms of getting the top 5 recruits.

If your claim to fame in coaching is recruiting, you can’t really say your team is the gold standard when you lose or miss on almost all the big ones for the second half your tenure.

Calipari needs at bare minimum another final four to get the fans fully back on his side, or at least a title. It ain’t just about this year, or you’d have heard the same or similar in 2013 when we went to the NIT.

I don’t disagree that we’re down since 2015, but Covid has really ruined two of the six seasons. Last year’s team really hit its stride down the stretch and was a popular Final Four pick, and where the current team is right now developmentally is where it would have been in November during a normal year. Wouldn’t have been a great team, but I’m confident we would have won the Notre Dame, Louisville, Auburn, and Georgia games, as well as the SCAR game that didn’t happen.

The prior four year run of Round of 32, Elite Eight, Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight isn’t really that bad. It’s not 2010-2015 quality, but still not that far down (especially when you consider that both Elite Eights were buzzer beaters away from Final Fours).

Our performance in games we played is well below what is expected for the "gold standard", the winningest program in college basketball history...... If frogs had wings they wouldn't bust their butt every time they hop. Using covid as an excuse is just sad.

Outside of about six people on Rupp Rafters, it’s universally accepted that contact restrictions had the greatest negative impact on young rosters that need the off-season for development. Kentucky lost more production than any other team in D1. This really isn’t controversial.

Hawk, there is an Old saying, Be not the first to try the new, nor the last to leave the old. When Cal tried the one and done, it worked, but it isn't working now, and hasn't for the past 5 years. He may know basketball, but he hasn't showed it. He refuses to leave the "Dribble Drive," which isn't working.

BigBlueFan, this explains it ALL. Even the CAL SUCKERS find it hard to dispute FACTS, if they can read, which I don't doubt, but interpreting is a different item.

Is this now our station in life? We are reduced to getting pep-talks from Iowa fans? I didn't think it was possible to feel worse, yet here we are.
The really is truth in this. You know you've fallen when fans of other teams attempt to cheer you up.

Also, Iowa fans are good people. Iowa State, however, fv*^ those guys.

Great points all around. My philosophy: you kneel for the flag, you’ll stay there for the game.

Now add in his insane amount of arrogance, thumbing his nose at BBN and allowing players to kneel during the national anthem, which he joined in on and you have the issue in a nutshell.

What's wrong with kneeling?
Pelosi, C. Wray (FBI), Schumer, Schiff, and others all agree that white supremacy is the #1 internal threat. White spremacists have killed almost 1/800 as many as Antifa and BLM have over the past 5 years. BLM has amassed over $10 BILLION in contributions over the past 5 years. BLM's owners aren't dumb-- they are keeping that money for themselves. So, what is wrong with kneeling in support of BLM? BLM is a quality group that really is helping blacks fight against the 74 milion+ white supremacists out there. Pelosi even said today (and yesterday, etc.) that the white republicans are white supremeacists, and she wants to keep troops in DC to protect her from them. The only way to apologize for your privilege and CRT (critical race theory) racism is to kneel and admit and apologize and give $$ to anyone asking.
Another true fact is that 5% of the nation can fool the rest, but not forever. As Lincoln said, [paraphrase] "You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. "
At any rate, Dims are proud of their racism, and they have pledged not to allow blacks out of the public schools that have failed them for 60 years. Dims hate charter schools and school vouchers for blacks. Thus, it is reasonable to infer that most white supremacists are Dim, since it is the Dims keeping them down. An old black professor, Sowell, wrote about this in "Charter schools and their enemies," a 2020 book.
So again I ask, what's wrong with kneeling? It's OK to be a racist if you're Dim and you virtue signal by kneeling and giving $$$ to BLM. What's wrong with that? And if you don't think you're a racist, CRT explains that you are just too racist to see it.

Yes, you do. If we were 13-2 right now and projected as a 2-seed, you wouldn’t be raging in ten different threads at a time. You also just called using Covid as an excuse “sad,” which means you must have pretty strong feelings about this season.

Um, what? I'm not raging. I've been over Cal since 2013 when the repercussions of his approach became clear. At least then he still had a prayer of winning a title. Thats gone now and I realize you don't agree. I have no idea how you equivalate "sad" to strong feelings.
