My god that off pass interference call was ridiculous.

Probably a 6 point call at least. From D driving for a FG to NO getting one.

I would say so but they bit the Saints there too. I think they are looking for anything to call because of all the New Orleans crying about last year.

Ruining what should be a good game.

I felt the same. Questionable penalties on both side throughout the half.

The thing that got me, though, was the lack of an overturn on the Zeke fumble. There were no less than two replay angles that showed his elbow clearly down before the ball came loose. It was an SEC-esque review

My most un-favorite was when they called roughing the passer and the defender was in the air about two feet away from the passer, in motion, totally stretched out, when the ball was thrown. You cannot stop your momentum in that position.

Doesn't matter if you can help it or not

The most NFL referee thing I saw last night was at the end, dak threw the ball, got his arm hit and it fell incomplete. Saints picked it up, no whistle so they ran (smart thing to do) into the endzone. Three refs looked at each other, held their hands up without a clue what to call, and didn't make a ruling for 30 seconds. The incompetence is unreal.

Dude that is 100% the correct way to call that play. If you blow your whistle and then review shows it was backward-tough ****--the whistle kills it. so you let the play finish and then look at it.

If you are referring to the hit on Bridgewater that was because he hit him low. That's a no-no.

OK, serious question and I am fully prepared to learn something. How does the rule read? A quarterback can not be hit below the waist?

I was very very surprised they didn’t call roughing the passer on the last play.
Glad they didn’t. If that happens in the 1st half or middle of 4th Qrt I bet it’s called.

D 6-64, NO 9-80

Quit your whining Dallas fans. I do agree there were some bad calls both ways, but anytime NO had a meaningful play seemed like there was a holding call. The roughing when Teddy got hit low was the right call, despite Collinsworth’s poor analysis.

The Saints are now 17-1 with that same crew. Too bad they didn't get them when it mattered, in the NFC championship game last year.

Saints got a PF on dak in 1st half on a very similar play

It was without a doubt a make up kiss to the Saints for completely screwing them out of the super bowl last year. That ridiculous offensive pass interference on Amari Cooper, the BS fumble call on Zeke, the 4 second play before the half ended that miraculously only took 2 seconds off the clock...

From the NFL rule book: "A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him."

The play in question the blocker forced the defender to the ground but not into the passer. The defender lunged into the QBs by his own power.

I agree. It is very difficult to avoid a penalty putting any kind of hit on a QB in the pocket and that is by design.

It wasn't that they let the play go - I agree that's how it should be (saints got screwed from that earlier this year). It's that three of them just stood there with their arms up looking at each other. None followed the defender to the end zone. They just stood there confused as 17.
