Thank you for all the memories. Sorry that our beloved program is unrecognizable now. It’s sad to say it but your son deserves better. Can’t blame y’all as a family if (when) he goes elsewhere. I just hope you know that most KY fans would rather have him than Cal at this point.

Jeff's probably as disgusted as we are. He played the 98 Final Four with an ankle injury that almost required foot amputation. Meanwhile, UK players these days own their own personal collection of walking boots.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cal pushing Terrence Clarke out in a wheelchair for our next game.

They purposely put Clarke in that chair wearing a boot to extinguish any controversy about his injury. Problem is it looked contrived and SUS as hell. A walking boot after 6 wks from an ankle sprain! Did the training staff not do any therapy or rehab with him. Do the math...do the homework.

The old Arthur Blank treatment of Michael Vick? I can see that happening. Players first!

Actually Jeff intentionally injured his ankle by repeatedly hitting it with a sledge hammer. He said pain made him a better player.

Sometimes you watch college players and there is that man out there playing amongst kids. Jeff Sheppard was that man. His "focus" is what I remember.

Yes, Jeff whatever you do , please discount the success that Cal has had here over the years. Please dismiss the fact that during a non covid season, the fan base would cheer your son on night after night, you remember that dont you Jeff. And please, by all means, forfeit your right as a parent to help your son decide what would be best for him. Yes , throw all of that away and instead, listen to a guy on this board named ....wait for it....Wonky.

Guys this is the ******* problem.
Reed will end up a 5* and be blown out of proportion talent wise. The truth is I’ve seen him play countless times against mountain competition and aau. Yes I would love for him to play here but don’t start acting like he’s gonna come in and change Kentucky basketball.

Nobody is acting like that. The point of the thread was that players like Reed (which is to say, players like Jeff) no longer fit into the “culture” of our program. And that’s sad.

I don’t think you do understand brotatoe Chip. You’re not “just making sure”. You getting agitated and saying you’ve seen him play 56 times and he’s no Tyler blah blah blah. Why man?

Like you already have a negative agenda and slant towards the kid. Nobody is saying he’s going to be some flashy elite star for us. What people are saying is...is that he could be a very solid 4 year player starting in year 1, plus he’s from Kentucky. I understand that being from Kentucky doesn’t mean much to some but it means something to many. If a guy is decently legit then there is no reason to not offer a Kentucky kid.

To each their own though. I’m sure there will be some up and coming 5 star with a dope mixtape with some lil yachty playing in the background that will be a shiny distraction and we will inevitably land him instead.

This is hilarious man but I promise you that’s not my narrative.
Reed is a good 4 yr player but a lot of people are overhyping him too much right now.

Final four MVP's don't fit at Kentucky according to a poster named Wonky. You heard here first folks!

Of course within days of this declaration another former player rebukes this and assures the fan base that there is nothing on their end that will prevent Jeff's son from playing here.

I wasn't going to say that out loud but I actually thought that too. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes.
