For starters I hate the phrase "black on black crime". That's a narrative white america/the media created. Black on black crime doesn't exist. Its just crime. U can go to any low income neighborhood in America, regardless to if they're black, white, Asian, mexican, Italian, etc, if its a low income poverty filled area then the crike rate will be high there. CRIME IS A PRODUCT OF POVERTY AND PROXIMITY.
As a black man im well aware that there is a problem we as black people have to acknowledge. In the grand scale of things we as black people have been free alot less than we've been enslaved. You have to take into consideration the conditioning we as black people have been subject to, from the stripping away of our language and culture, to slavery, to jim crow and segregation, to redistricting, to the systematic ******** we deal with now. Anyone that thinks that **** doesn't affect us is just clueless and oblivious to the truth.
I agree, we do have alot of problems. Let's be clear tho, we did not start these issues. We've been conditioned and brainwashed for so long and it is sad. I hate the word victim but by and large we have victims of America's ******** for too long. The fact we have to protest and fight for **** the constitution tells us were SUPPOSE to be entitled to is crazy!!!
The diff between me killing another black man and the police killing a black man is when i do it, im going to prison. When the cops do it, they're often let off, put on administrative leave and the **** goes away. Let's be clear, this is 2020, I would argue the police brutality happening now pales in comparison to what was going on 20,30,40,50,60 years ago. How do u think we feel dealing with this for so long? There's been 1000's of George Floyds that weren't caught on camera....let that sink in...
It took until now to bring police injustice to the front door of white america. We've been dealing with this since we've gotten here. Were tired and were angry. Funny how were taught to turn the other cheek and be peaceful but this country does not do that. Fighting hate with love is the dumbest **** ever...
PTSD is real, and that doesn't mean just real for military veterans, or survivors if abuse. The system was set up against us. Being born black meant I automatically had to fight racism, poverty, and the systematic world of oppression I was born into. This isn't anything new to black people. Its unfortunate it takes for all this to happen just to bring awareness to a problem so blatantly real for millions of us. The mere fact "black lives matter" has to be said and repeated should show our lives aren't valued in the same way as our white counterparts. Its ok to unaware of the oppressiin and systemic oppressiin, but to deny it is something totally different.
