Yep, don't understand the logic of those who seem to think Sarr will get a waive bu that Williams will not.
They both will get them but Sarr has the better chance due to losing a coach so late in the game. But basically there is nothing to worry about with either they will get them.

Well how things change . 24 hours ago it sounded like we would close with Frank A but now it sounds like Frank doesn't want to redshirt as he would have to as he isn't playing over Jackson or Sarr at the 5 and Williams is close to committing to UK. His waiver isn't as cut and dry as Sarr's is but again if UK is offering they believe he will play next season as well.
Not really sure why you think Williams doesn’t have as good of a case, he literally went through hell at Evansville, all the players on Evansville’s team should get waivers if they want!

I’ve thought all along it was Williams. I don’t give a damn what our “insiders” say. Judging by what I’ve read on Williams, if UK was serious about him playing here, he’s a lock.

I think he has an amazing case. Just not as good as Sarrs But that is splitting hairs. Both have very little to worry about is the part that is important.

I think Anselems coaches are talking out the both sides of their mouths. First they say he’s a project and needs two or three years to develop, and then tell another sports writer that Frank isn’t coming if UK lands a big man
When his handlers said Anselem wasn't coming if Haarms did, I knew for damn sure he wasn't when Sarr committed. I have no idea why folks were thinking he was coming, after Sarr signed.

I trust Cal to manage all the personalities . What is great is we are set as the number 1 team right now with Sarr . Adding williams or Frank are just icing on the cake. If we don't add Williams so be it . But if we do oh boy.

And Evansville will cooperate with the transfer. Wake Forest will probably try to make things difficult.

Good point . It was weird then later he said he would be fine playing with another big they brought in . I suspect he meant a PF like Williams though.

We have a 9 man rotation regardless if Williams or Sarr are eligible.

Mintz
Clarke
Boston
Brooks
Jackson

Askew
Allen
Fletcher
Ware

And yes I realize you said Killer 8 man. Just saying Fletcher and Allen can give 8-10 quality minutes IMO.

Start getting too many in the rotation and it effects the flow of the game and your top guys start to lose minutes.

I think one of Ware and Jackson emerges as the primary backup at the 5 by SEC play. I see Cal giving one of them 10-15 minutes a game instead of giving them both 5-7 minutes each.

As for Fletcher and Allen, they are both in for a fight to get minutes, IMHO. I see them being out of the rotation as Cal tightens it up in January and February.

I see a rotation looking like this for late in the season:

PG Mintz(30)/Askew(10)
SG Clarke(30)/Askew(10)
SF Boston(30)/Williams(10)
PF Brooks(30)/Williams(10)
C Sarr(30)/Jackson(10)

So do I send my monthly insider subscription to Keion Brooks, Sr?

No chatter about Mintz and then boom.

We were getting Haarms then didn't.

Sarr wasn't officially in the portal and then signed with us.

No chatter about Williams and then made his final four.

Anselem is coming and then wasn't.

Sources say it's been a rough offseason for sources.

Not bad, I’d take Mintz, Sarr and Brooks down to 25ish.

If Jackson gets only 10 minutes a game I bet he transfers
Never really worried about center minutes that much, these guys rarely can play big minutes and are in foul trouble quite a bit. I would say he would end up in the 15-20 minute a game range if he beats out Ware.

Truthfully Gonzo, a chicken shitting on a board could do as good. Then our own z71 lol. It didn't take an insider to know it was Williams and not Anselem.

Anselem would be a good fit at WKU. He could get some valuable minutes at that level. Plus, I think Bassey is back and going against him every game would be good for his development. As a WKU alum, I hope he ends up there.

I agree. But UK kids appear to transfer without decent time. I want Brooks/Ware/Jackson getting time. How does Sarr get with SEC refs calling him for fouls. Can he get 30 min a game
My other concern. Does Fletcher have patience. Otherwise if I were Cal I’d stick with transfers.

I could see that . except at PF I think Williams will play 20 Brooks 15 and ware 5 and at the SF I think Brooks will some there not williams . At the 5 Sarr will play more then jackson but not 3x more. I see it 25-15 .

There seems to be a lot of optimism for a Kentucky commitment from Williams. I’ll take the momentum, but I would still hold caution until the announcement. Plenty of time to flip or be swayed by this weekend; it seems very Haarms-esq.

I really like the versatility that Williams brings. Seems like he's likely to commit this weekend. Will be interesting to see how he fits into the rotation. I suppose he and Brooks battle for the starting PF spot and the loser comes off the bench for both the 3 and 4 spots.

I've thought about that too. It's why Anselem seemed to be an ideal fit if he was OK with a minimal role as a freshman. He wouldn't affect Ware and Jackson's playing time, then could step into a starting spot in a year or two.

I figured for the longest time we wouldn't add two more impact bigs just to appease the incoming big men, but that may not be the case now. F it. I just want another national title. I don't care if there's a mass exodus with NBA declarations and transfers and we go to the NIT the following year. Williams checks a couple important boxes with experience and shooting ability. Bring him in Cal.

if brooks isnt a starter getting 25-30 mpg but rather coming off the bench....he is transferring mid year.

Right, because he and his father couldn’t contain their excitement for his commitment and had to tweet about it. Makes sense.

everyone loves a loaded roster right up to the point where they dont get playing time. it boggles my mind so many are that in love will williams.
