As we wait for decisions from Bolden, Briscoe, and Lee check out De'Aaron Fox new senior mixtape video.
That is one of the biggest difference from this last season to next is both Fox and Monk can play above the rim. So if the shot isn't falling they have more than one dimention. Saw it a little from Murray last year but not near what these 2 can do
Uhhh Murray was a beast when he wanted to dunk on someone . He just rose up and kept going and going . He isn't a monk level athlete but he was a great one ntl.
I didn't think Murray was a phenomenal athlete.
He was unbelievably skilled, but he was a bit lacking in the athleticism department IMO.
At least compared to guards we've had in the past
We are lucky to have him , can't wait to see next years team . That said , he is still going to struggle at times and he will start to understand/adjust to college after 15 to 20 games . The first 15 games will be moments of brilliance followed up by turnovers and wtf moments . Fans will say he's not ready to go pro and want to play Hawkins at point . Remember Wall saying he didn't know what Cal wants from him 15 games in , it takes time .

Fox and Monk can block shots at the rim. Murrary and Ulis were not that type of player.
Murray had one really nice dunk in the USC game. I'm not sure that qualifies him as a beast. I loved Murray's game and I think he will be a stud in the NBA. I'm just not sure athleticism is his calling card.
A backcourt of Fox and Monk just isnt going to be fair. Electrifying is the word that comes to mind.
Didn't say he couldn't. Said we saw it some. He didn't do it very often Monk and Fox will. I know some on here didn't consider Murray an elite athlete and in some aspects he may not be but he had better hops than people give him credit for
I cannot wait to see these guards and this team play. They are so athletic. Go Cats!!
With Briscoe, Fox , and Monk our perimeter defense has potential to be great. I hope Briscoe comes back.
More athletic than Bledsoe and Wall will be hard to pull off.
In other words, Murray had a 40" max vertical in the land of rainbows and unicorns, where the streams are milkshakes and the fields are filled with chocolate cows that drop warm hershey kisses from their behinds.
Dakari doesn't have a 34" vert.
Skal has never and likely will never get 12 reps of 185 on the bench.
The UK combine numbers are about as trustworthy as a mother's evaluation of the attractiveness of her dorky, brace-laden, pizza-faced 14 year old.

Bench press reps are even easier to quantify than slapping vertical sticks, but somehow they still BSed those for Skal, whether with bounce reps or half reps or two midgets holding either end of the bar - no one who looks like Skal puts up 185 for 12. Period.
For reference, Eric Bledsoe put up 9. Daniel Orton put up 13. Tiny Gallon put up 14. I put up 30 or so because I'm the GD boss and don't you forget it. I'm listing picks from '10 because that's the first nba combine results list I found on google.
When it comes to the leap, basically everybody on our roster, according to UK, had a 34"+ vertical, including Dakari - which is unreal. The most athletic team of all time. Then, when they were officially measured at the draft combine, both of the twins magically lost 3.5" off their vertical. Dakari lost 9" off his vertical. In 2014, he got 34", then in 2015, he registered at 25. The only other player who was measured at both was Booker, who also magically lost an inch in max vertical and 3.5" on no step vert.
Loose sticks swinging together? Slanted floor? I don't know, but if you chalk this all up to coincidence, you are deserving of ridicule. Shame upon your family.

Oh boy. Murray is a terrific athlete. He's not John Wall or Eric Bledsoe but you're talking about 2 of the 5 most athletic guards in the NBA currently.
He's more athletic than every other point guard or shooting guard we've had at UK under Calipari and you have to go all the way back to Rondo to find another more athletic than him at UK period besides the two already mentioned.
Plus his conditioning was well beyond any of the other guys when they arrived besides Ulis. He had terrific body control as well. Murray was awesome. Heck I think he might be underrated to be honest. I think he is in the same category as Simmons and Ingram. He's a better version of Eric Gordon IMO.
If Murray gets a workout and interview with one of the Lakers or Sixers I wouldn't be surprised to see him supplant one of Simmons or Ingram in one of those top 2 spots. The NBA loves shooters right now. And Murray does have some Steph in him. He's going to interview well too. He's humble but confident, intelligent, has a strong bball IQ, an amazing work ethic and a great upbringing.
That said if he's not going to the Lakers I certainly don't want him going to the Sixers. Would prefer the T'Wolves at that point.

If the Twolves somehow get Murray, I will officially become a fan! I agree that he is not the explosive athlete that fox and monk are, but he is defintely going to be a stud in the nba.
Also monk and fox being more athletic than the wall bledsoe backcourt is a STRONG statement. Not disagreeing, but not agreeing yet either. I definitely hope so, but that is setting the bar exceptionally high.
