IIRC if a player declares for the draft and doesn’t sign with an agent can remain in school and play if he is not drafted. Is this correct or am I remembering this incorrectly.

He’ll get a cup of coffee and start his outside career post Rutgers....certainly gives us another schollie and possible transfer in... thanks Lumor for playing hard and coming to Rutgers.

Best of Luck, but a bad decision IMHO

That depends on if he's on track to graduate in four years (redshirt junior). One more year in college probably wouldn't help his draft status. In a case where he won't get drafted this year or won't get drafted this year, he may as well get on with his life if he will leave with a degree.

NFL players get beaten up and have an average life expectancy that is 20 years less than an average male. Do they tell these players when they declare to join the NFL?
Why we never hear when a player declares to become a state trooper?

That was a little surprising. And a thin position group gets a little thinner.

There was a Syracuse player who declared to become a rapper.

I think he was a Rutgers target at one point.
Will have to look it up.

We could have used him this year but if the poster above is right about a year of prep and four years here he probably feels it is time to start earning, NFL unlikely but give it a go and if not then into the working world.

Shame. He played well in several games. Could have used him this year. Next man up. By October name never mentioned. Good luck young man.

Surprising how these kids think. I would give my eye teeth to be on a Schiano team, even if I never saw the field. (1000% guaranteed). Guess that’s why age gives you “wisdom”.

I know that this is what a google search will tell you but this is probably wrong. My quick review of the actual studies is showing not much difference. I would not rely on science reporting in main stream press.

Oof. I don't like hating on people's "art," but that is atrocious. Just monotone...nothing catchy, no climax, no nothing. It's like they didn't understand how to make a song.

Also, maybe it's just that we are some years later now, but no one is impressed by the Benz in that video.

1 year a prep school, 4 years at RU. The kid is probably 23 years old already. Staying in school 1 more year will not improve his skillset.
Yeah unless he wants to improve his brain, get a degree, and get a good job. Cause it isn't gonna be on Sundays.

A lot of people said that about Freeney. He hung around a handful of years and collected some money from the NFL. They are pretty similar players. Freeney bulked up to play every down his last season here but the game is more wide open now and pass rushers can play in the 250 range if they have speed.
