Anyone heard anything? Makes me think the rumors about the Georgia Co-DC could have some smoke? Just seems mighty quiet on this front so was curious if anyone is hearing any rumblings?

MR said in an interview that he’s trying to talk Snow into coming. Maybe that was just talk?

Would not be shocked to see either Schumann or Leonhard as a strong candidate for DC. Schumann is only 32 but is co def-coordinator with Muschamp. Leonhard is a young guy too.

As far as the "smoke" on the GA guy, I posted that a few days ago, not that I know anything about it but I remember reading about it somewhere and then posting. May be absolutely nothing to it.
So I wouldn't exactly call it "smoke".

Could be possible Leonhard is trying for the Cincy, Colo, South Florida, ASU job also.

We all know, the DC is kind of a big job for an elite-type guy, so either of the two guys above would fit in really well under Rhule and the new staff. Presumably at least.

Based on his the hires so far, I doubt Rhule is going to hire a D.C. that hasn't worked for him before.

He said in an interview he's trying to get Phil Snow to put down the golf clubs and come here. If Snow wants to retire, I would guess Mike Siravo will be the next D.C.

Far more concerned about this DC hire than the OC hire.

There's a 100% certainty that most fans will dislike the OC in short order, just like with any fanbase.

This league calls for competent defense.

I'm good with whoever he hires. I think Rhule wants to install a solid defense with whatever personnel NU has, so somebody pretty damn good will need to be the DC. It seems like considerable money would be available to get a good one.

As far as Snow, in 3 weeks he's gonna be 67 years old. He may or may not have the passion or the energy to take on a project like this. I know from experience, once you get to a certain age with enough assets to be comfortable, it's pretty easy to relax, enjoy yourself, and let someone else deal with the heavy lifting.

Wonder if Leonhard would take it just to say Eff YOU to bucky
He could, but only a guess. I think Leonhard had a taste of the HC gig so I don't know how long he might stick around because he's a pretty strong commodity in the college game.

Schumann

Collins --- I read that he is following Nebraska's coaching staff as well as some office personnel

I could be off base but I would guess Snow as an analyst (or fall back to the previous two)

I'd be stoked if our coordinators only stuck around for 1 year and left to be head coaches. That would mean good things are happenjng.

Snow could be an analyst hire.

This "I'm good with whatever Coach decides" attitude is the same mindset that the AD had when rewarding Scott Frost with a contract extension despite having a crappy team on the field.

Leonhard is not coming. Based on the hires so far I wouldn't expect a slam dunk.

I expect it will be a slam dunk that nobody has heard of…. We’ve heard Rhule is a control freak workaholic. The last guy we had with a post graduate degree in EdPsych who hired no name assistants and was a control freak did pretty well at NU

Yeah there's no way Rhule is going to hire Leonhard or Schumann. It's pretty clear that Rhule has a system and he wants guys who have worked for him before to run it. He's not going to turn the defense over to someone who runs their own system.

Also, Leonhard or Schumann would want to have a say in who the defensive position coaches would be, and Rhule has already hired all of the defensive position coaches (other than LBs).

Leonhard staying makes the team better. Good coach and will find a place within 2 years to be or will be a long term DC there for 10 years. Good mind for the game

They worked it out with interim and it will bring them team back together for the good of the program. Our interim HC, well...
Getting him to stay is big for their program.

p.s. Your pic isn’t from Medicine Bow is it? I was just there in WY and have a similar pic minus the sunset hues.
