Saw Steve mention this on GP in the article about letting transfers play without sitting out. Anybody know anything about this guy?

Not an all star or anything but he does have some decent stats and was a Top 50 player nationally out of high school. Leaving because he wasn’t a starter by the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t start us. With the tiny amount of depth we have in the secondary he would definitely play. The Jason Washington connection is really helping us out here.

Great news especially with Arnett coming back. Looking forward to seeing our improvement from year one to two.

That certainly worked out for us.

No such thing as a can’t miss.

Your point is correct about no such thing as “can’t miss”, but I think you’re getting your “D. Robinson’s” mixed up. He was referring to Deljuan Robinson, who was a great DT for us when healthy, and also played a bit for the Texans. Had open heart surgery while at MSU and missed some time due to that.

ETA: Heart surgery was actually before he enrolled. He was a 2.5 year starter for us and was with the Texans for 4 seasons. Hardly what anyone would call a “miss”.

It would actually make him the 10th highest composite.
Older guys didn’t have 247 ratings, so going by only recent players he’d be behind both Chris Jones and Charles Cross in 247 rating only.
If you’re just going by the composition national rankings, and not their rating, then yes, he’d be second, even though other players had higher ratings.

Big thing is that he was a CB at Texas & has agreed to play safety at MSU.

That's a huge point here because, had he been willing, he may have started at safety for Texas.

He's 6'1" 200 lbs, so that's about coverage safety size. This is a great get & really sets out secondary up for massive improvement next year
