https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/10/us/senators-bill-daylight-saving-time-permanent-trnd/index.html A group of bipartisan senators is reintroducing a bill that would make Daylight Saving Time (DST) permanent.
"The call to end the antiquated practice of clock changing is gaining momentum throughout the nation," Rubio said in a statement on Tuesday.
Not everyone observes the tradition in the US -- Hawaii and Arizona don't. The five major US territories -- American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Island, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands -- also do not observe DST.
In a recent statement, Rubio cited multiple benefits to extending DST, including reducing the number of car accidents Americans experience and helping reduce the risk of seasonal depression.
He said such legislation would help give families "more stability throughout the year."
Democratic Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts echoed Rubio in highlighting the benefits of extending DST.
"Studies have found year-round Daylight Saving Time would improve public health, public safety, and mental health -- especially important during this cold and dark COVID winter," Markey said in a statement, adding that he is "proud to sponsor the Sunshine Protection Act to add an extra hour of sunshine for the full 365 days a year."

One day you may find a girl drunk enough to have sex with you which may lead to a kid. Said kid will enjoy the extra daylight to play catch with you or other children.

I know having to change that damn car clock is difficult twice per year for your monkey brain, but there are a lot of solid YouTube videos that can walk you through it.

In all my life, I think I can count on one hand how many times I have seen dad with son playing catch in the yard past 6pm.

But I guess I am wrong!

I think the majority now is against the twice annual time changes. But yet it persists. A puzzler.

Personally I'd be happy with making either "normal" or "daylight savings" time permanent. I'd don't care which. Just stop forcing us to keep changing the damn clocks.

The above is what I think. It takes a week for me to adjust and changing clocks are a pain.

It sounds like changing the clocks is the least liked option? I think most people on here seem to prefer permanent DST? Maybe we should start another poll with the different alternatives?

Really struck a nerve with TampaBaySkers. I don't think his monkey brain is registering that most people want that extra hour of sun ALL YEAR!!!

Right, just NEVER change it. I promise, your kids will still make the JV baseball team.

However, the counter happens during fall back.

Falling back makes people pregnant and improves heart conditions? Winking

For the morons that voted yes... do you not enjoy throwing the ball around with your son or daughter an extra hour as the weather gets warmer? 7:30 and we are still tossing the ball around. I love day light savings time.
For all the "morons" voted yes probably want that extra hour all year.

You mess with the calendar when you take time out and don’t put it back in. Probably too tough for you to comprehend. All this because you struggle to change your clock twice per year.

Even though it needs to be changed, it probably never gets addressed because no politician wants to be the guy that's the poster boy for getting rid of it.

Not when there's other super-important stuff they could be doing.

Your question was to GET RID OF daylight savings time. Are you really this dumb?
Try reading my posts. I said keep it one time and stick with it. The back and forth is stupid and messes with many people. I posted numerous articles to back this up. Read. Side to side. Up and down. Take Advil for any headaches. Midol for cramps. 😆

You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth. Both are wrong.

Con: Can Make People Sick
Changing the time, even if it is only by one hour, disrupts our body clocks or circadian rhythm. For most people, the resulting tiredness is simply an inconvenience. For some, however, the time change can have more serious consequences to their health.

and the Sturgis rally caused 260,000 Covid cases

You sound cranky. I bet it's because you just lost an hour of sleep last night!! 😆

Nope just dropping facts. 1 hour of sleep one day per year has zero effect on your health. Have you had a kid? If so, how much sleep did you lose? Stressful meetings? Sick dog? All a much bigger role on sleep than one day per year due to DST which occurs on Sat night/Sun morning.

I know I'm in the minority so they'll never eliminate daylight savings time. I would rather start my work at 5 am in the summer and get going while it's cool and then do other stuff while hot and then go back to physical work in the evening. Makes sense to me.

But I would rather have daylight savings time all year long than change back and forth.

I basically work dawn to dusk and don't live by the clock

I suppose I am wondering why you would give two fake TEAMS addresses after you said you would help me to understand how to use daylight savings time effectively.

It’s real. Silly me.. you struggle to adjust your clocks how could you understand teams.

Sounds like no one here knows Time.

Alice sighed wearily. `I think you might do something better with the time,' she said, `than waste it in asking riddles that have no answers.'

`If you knew Time as well as I do,' said the Hatter, `you wouldn't talk about wasting it. It's him.'

`I don't know what you mean,' said Alice.

`Of course you don't!' the Hatter said, tossing his head contemptuously. `I dare say you never even spoke to Time!'

`Perhaps not,' Alice cautiously replied: `but I know I have to beat time when I learn music.'

`Ah! that accounts for it,' said the Hatter. `He won't stand beating. Now, if you only kept on good terms with him, he'd do almost anything you liked with the clock. For instance, suppose it were nine o'clock in the morning, just time to begin lessons: you'd only have to whisper a hint to Time, and round goes the clock in a twinkling! Half-past one, time for dinner!'
