After being shopped to every single streaming service in existence and finding that there was zero interest - it is now making its way around tiny little theaters throughout the state

People were unwilling to tell the entire story - both the positive and negatives surrounding those teams - the documentary is an extremely scrubbed/sanitized version of that time

This is the first I have seen of that trailer, and my honest reaction was, oh not all this again.

I want to see us get our identity back by running the ball again, yes, 100%..

That is where it all ends though.

Too often, there is a myriad of other ******** from that time, that sure, tells a nice story, but we all act as if every little detail came on a tablet from above.

To me, the reality is, Just go back to being a running team to regain your sense of identity. From there, you make adjustments as needed, which is all TO did anyway.

We haven't been a running team since Solich was fired.

Saw it today. Very enjoyable/interesting. Lots of behind the scenes stuff and interviews with many former players and coaches (including Switzer, Bowden, Erickson).

I saw it today. I’d say most real fans aren’t going to learn much that’s new. It was very enjoyable to watch.

Everyone in the theater was north of 40…mostly north of 50.

I think being a "running team" is much more difficult than people think. College tracks the NFL and the NFL tracks college so if the NFL is moving towards a league without a RB, or where the RB is a receiver, and you pay your top 4 receivers 40 million total, your offensive lineman are judged first and foremost on pass protection, your TEs need to be pass catchers, there is no full back, or they are a converted RB it gets hard to build a decently talented team with guys who basically admit they aren't ever going to play in the NFL. It might work to build an FCS all-star team with guys who are o.k with no pass blocking, or a RB willing to ruin their career for 40 rushes a game, or a WR who only gets targets 3 times but that is highly unlikely and hard to do for many years. A team like Wisky did it to perfection and didn't win a damn thing because their offense was anemic against decent defenses, and they were great when the RB was a top commodity. Playing RB is a liability now.

We moved away from the option because it was difficult to bring in offensive players with the promise of playing in the NFL, and it is the reason, even though we had epic teams at NU, we produced very few good NFL players. You better believe others were recruiting against us saying, "If you play for Solich you won't cut it in the NFL".

I liked the variety of running that Tim Beck brought. Helu, Martinez, Abdullah, Burkhead, Armstrong, among others. Lots of nice runs in that offense. Mostly with underrated dudes. What they did with Taylor Martinez was damn impressive.

agree.. under Bo, we were more run oriented than at any other time since Solich was fired. I don't know if it's coincedence, but the record also reflected more success as well.

We got lucky that once TM got injured, he was a more than serviceable thrower, although his throwing motion gave everyone an ulcer :)
