Which is why I asked if this will be just another fluff piece, or if they will be unbiased like a 30 for 30 would be.
I was skeptical about this doc especially since it was done by two former players and since they were raising money for TO's teammates at the theater..I figured it may just be a "puff piece" and just a watered down version not covering any of the behind the scenes dirt that went on.
But, according to one of the producers (as long as he is not blowing smoke) this has me encouraged:
Part two, called 'The Dynasty', documents everything from the 1994 season to Osborne’s retirement in 1997,
including events that happened away from the gridiron.
“There’s multiple people that talk about each of those, from Lawrence Phillips to Brook Berringer, to the competitive battle at quarterback with Tommie Frazier,
a number of off the field incidents," Brungardt said. "Even players and coaches we’ve interviewed came back and asked us ‘How did you get so and so? How did you get that guy to talk?'"
Also from the article:
We essentially had a vision of what we thought we wanted to cover but as people started expanding on and bringing to life new stories, new situations, it just kind of kept taking on a life of its own and evolving," Brungardt said.
“There’s a lot of stuff we were able to dig out through these interviews that nobody’s ever heard before. Nobody’s ever spoken on before.”
This has me encouraged that this will not just be a puff piece and have some layers to it. I just hope that since it is part two that talks about 94-97 Dynasty that it is long enough to cover everything, and show just how dominant NU was during that time.
I dont think the 1995 team has EVER been documented or really talked about in depth by anyone as of yet which is a shame as the 1995 team is probably the most dominant college football team since they started
putting facemasks on the helmets.
