Carter (Heat)- 2 games + 1 DNP, 6 pts, 3 Reb, 5 assists, 44% FG, 67% from 3

Woodard (Kings)- 2 games, 7 pts, 2 assists, 7 Reb, 25% FG, 13% from 3

Projections - Tyson played pretty well in the time he was given, but his fate has already been decided. He was likely just brought in to temporarily fill out the Heat’s g league roster while they waited for their new rookies

Stewart is still getting good minutes, but he needs to make something happen fast if he wants to make a G league roster. His 0-6 shooting from 3 hasn’t helped a bit

Woodard is probably safe with a G league roster spot for one more year, but his shooting has to get better

DJ didnt do terribly in the California games, for what thats worth. Omer Yurtseven dominated the California games in PPG, RPG, shooting %, etc. Wonder how real his productivity is.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Perry can do. He’s always been the most NBA ready of the group from a size and strength standpoint, but he’s gotta get consistent with that 15-20 footer.

If he can start knocking that down regularly, he’s really got a chance to be a key piece off the bench for a Nets team that will be looking for a title next year. He’s got work to do, but I see some Lemarcus Aldridge in him

I like the Aldridge comparison. I also think the Rudy Gay role in an offense could be something Perry develops into as well. Somewhere between the two. Hell, those are two really good players. Might be asking too much.

I like the Aldridge comparison too, in that Perry needs to develop that midrange game in the mold of Aldridge. I don't think Perry is going to have the size to score consistently in the post, but his midrange shotmaking ability has always been a question mark. If he can really develop that portion of his game, he could have a really good pro career. His ability to rebound is going to play at that level.

rough stat line for Perry yesterday. Ended up with a -20 rating.
23minutes played, shot 2 for 10 overall for 6 points. He did grab a team high 12 rebounds.



On a related note, Q played 24minutes for the Nets and went 5 for 11. Scored 13 points, had 4 assists, and ended with a +8 rating.

Yeah, he actually got off to a nice start by scoring 5 of the Nets’ first 7, but then it was pretty much all downhill after that aside from his rebounding.

Woodard had a rough day as well only getting 2 pts and a rebound in 7 minutes. I still can’t see him not making the Kings’ G league team, but there are only so many spots out there, and teams just don’t have the time or patience to wait 3-4 years for these guys. He needs to pick it up pronto

On the Grizzlies side of the fence, Zaire was exactly as advertised. Tentative, needs to put on some weight, and I’m not expecting much this year. I still don’t understand the move to offload JV for a 2-3 year project, but I guess we’ll see
