If Grady doesn’t pick it up and get more aggressive on offense, I’m thinking Mintz needs to replace him as the starter at 3.

That said, this team is not going to reach its full potential unless or until Grady becomes more of a factor. The guy is too effective of a scorer to not be a major part of the offense.

I’ll be honest. I thought Davion would be irrelevant on this team. I was completely wrong. Kid wasn’t just the best player on a bad team. He’s just a good player.

Mintz played very hard against Ohio. Brought energy the whole time he was in. Great to see a player just flying around the court trying to make things happen.

We need Grady to ball for us to be at our best. Regardless of what Mintz does.

Maybe we use Mintz off the bench or as a closer? We have guys like Grady and Allen that we can and should utilize. Imagine Mintz on the the 2nd unit.. yeesh.

I know we have some cool and shiny new toys on this team. Oscar is a freaking beast and Wheeler is a jitterbug that will wear teams out, but Mintz is my guy on this team. He plays hard and he is a blue collar/ lunch pail guy that gives you 100% on every play. I wish we had a guy like him every year.

I like his demeanor and I like how bothered he is when we lose. Last year really bothered him, you could see it in his post game interviews. He didn't complain… .ever and he just kept fighting. Give me that guy every time.

When we’re at full strength, and considering Cal has already said he wants no more than an 8-man rotation, I have a hard time seeing Mintz getting a lot of minutes later in the season. Unless someone else doesn’t live up to the level they were hyped.

Mintz will get minutes regardless. He’s the Darius Miller for this team IMO.

Mintz will get plenty of minutes as he’s always going to be the first guard off the bench and a top 7 player minute wise. Starters plus Toppin and Mintz will be the top 7.

I also don’t buy into us ever limiting to just 8. As the remaining minutes after the top 7 will be split between Ware/Hopkins/Collins/Allen. Whoever is hot out of that bunch will continue to get run, and certain matchups will dictate that as well.

Who knows what Cal will do rotation-wise. I’m just going by what he said. Nothing against Mintz, I really like him. I just think based on what each player can potentially do for this team, he’s our 4th backcourt option. He’ll obviously get minutes and have his moments, but I don’t think he’s as important as some of you believe. Unless of course one of the other three isn’t what we hope they are.

Grady will be fine, some games Mintz will play better. It a good problem to have. We don’t rely on one guard to carry us.

Mintz is what he is, he is going to help us win some games. Once Grady figures out how to play defense like Cal wants him to, he’ll be fine. We need both playing well in March.

We’ve got four really good guards to play three spots. I am not worried about our backcourt at all.
