What was LSU thinking not going all in on Dave Aranda?

i was scared to death LSU would hire Aranda. LSU people will tell you that he can't recruit, and is winning with Rhule's players. He went 2-7 last year, and has them ranked 7th this year and just won the Sugar Bowl. They have some things to iron out offensively, but dang that was a smothering defense. I don't think we saw one that smothering this year.
