After seeing his film a while ago, I was hoping we'd get him, offers or no offers, stars or no stars. It doesn't matter who his father or brother is, this is a good get.

I don't understand why WVU didn't offer especially since his dad was a good player for them. I guess that he is undersized for their liking. He only got offers from UMass, Kent State, Appalachian State and Liberty.

Edit: 8/1 Never mind.

I keep asking the same question (no disrespect to Darius): Why no other big time offers? What is the problem with WVU?

BTW -- Wasn't basketball's Rashad Kent from Fairmount?

JMO, but sometimes staffs simply whiff on a kid. -He goes to various camps, performs very well, and still no major offers come down the line. Maybe a particular staff is looking at another prospect at his position, or the coaches feel that isn't really an area of need for that particular class, etc.

To be sure, recruiting isn't an exact science by any means and sometimes coaches can miss a kid that's literally right under their noses. But after watching this young guy's highlight film I can totally understand why Ash and Co. wanted him, (and apparently wanted him badly), and for those schools that didn't offer Mr. Stills, well, their loss is "R" gain. I don't care about stars in this case. It is about DNA and his dad and his brother. He is part of an interesting triumvirate ..

W.Va ain't exactly a hotbed of HS FB so maybe he was overlooked or they thought the competition wasn't great same as in NYC you find undiscovered ''gems'' you might find similar in isolated areas of the country.

Hard to overlook a legacy kid. The lack of a WVU offer is certainly curious.

But it works out for us, so I'm not complaining.

Welcome aboard!

Maybe WVU thinks that he will jump to them as soon as they snap their fingers if they decide to offer him later in the process. Dangerous game to play. Risks turning off the family and the highly ranked brother in the next class. RU has missed on some local guys who went to places like UConn and had very good college careers. Let's hope the day will come when WVU fans are furious that Stills was allowed to leave the state.

Looks like he got his WVU offer today. Maybe WVU was playing chicken with him and hoped he would walk on? This should be interesting.....

Decommitted
Oh well, he decided that RU wasn't really where he wanted to go .
Glad he didn't wait longer before deciding after WV offered .
Now RU knows it needs to find someone else and if he waited longer the recruit RU might have
wanted could have committed somewhere else and kept that commitment even if Rutgers went heavy after him.
Now RU knows they have a spot to fill and will look to fill it ASAP .
Stills made the right move for him, but it looks like RU was a fall back option the way this
commit /decommit happened.

How did he lose a star after committing? I read somewhere that he was a three star.
