I get it and it makes sense. If I was him I would have tried like hell to dump one of my non-conference games...then go out and freaking BEG a big time P5 school for a 2 for 1 or hell even a 2 for 0 deal.
Every decade there is one school who feels left out. The last team on this was Boise State. They proved themselves on the field on a consistent basis and with coaching changes. Let's see how UCF does for the next several years and then decide if they have a case.

They were quite disparaging of UCF. Message board trolls aside, I quite like UCF and always have since they visited here in the 90s. The argument was made that a couple non-P5 schools are better than UCF and should be first in the conversation. I thought it was a pretty graceless take on things actually.
I also can't defend Alabama's title last year either. But then I have been a consistent proponent that you must win your conference and conf title game if you have one to make the playoffs. I know everyone wants to give Alabama a pass no matter what, but that is how I feel about it.

White's problem is that when his team struggles with a 4-4 Memphis team who is 1-3 in the AAC, and a Missouri team that is winless in the SEC east beats that same Memphis team by 4 TDs and a FG, the perception is that your league is weak.
