I once peed by Danny Nee in Hutch at the juco tourney and was surprised at:
- how tall he was
- how friendly he was
Also struck up a conversation with Gary Bargan where I said that I taught Deangelo Evans and if he had heard of him... he said we have none about him since 6th grade...
Btw... my conversation with Nee... AFTER we stepped away from said urinals

Nee was a good guy. He had a horribly foul mouth though and I'm not sure he was a very good x's and o's coach. Great recruiter though. I think his vocabulary and his wife's escapades are what got him fired.

He must be friendly. If someone peed by me at a juco tourney, I would definitely change seats.

Bob Devaney loved Nee because they were both Irish Catholics who loved to drink. Heck, the rumor was that Nee's job offer came during a night of drinking at the old Legion club.

The best thing Danny Nee did, was hire Jimmy Williams as lead recruiter and assistant coach. Jimmy brought in some talent.

Years ago I was at DFW and needed to use the restroom. I thought the guy beside me at the urinals was a Cowboy player. I asked if he was Drew Pearson. He responded, "not yet." (old joke)
