Did anyone else hear the interview with him? The reporter asked why he wore the #0, if there was any significance to it. He said that was the number of players that could defend him. Then she asked how he ended up in Ohio, since he was from Ky.....why not Ky or Loserville. He told her that Cal didn't really recruit him that hard.

My point......Cal really knows how to weed out arrogance. Wonder if he will change his number now? We are so lucky to have Cal-he can spot the troublemakers every time.

Meh he would not of jelled with this team. Maybe if we didnt land Ullis or Booker Cal could of brought him in but who knows. I know one thing he can make plays.

No, I would have thought the same thing. Don't mind swag, confidence, cocky-ness etc, but to say that no one can guard you is just plain arrogance, and I wouldn't like that in anyone, including our players. There is ALWAYS somebody better.

Russel is a stud...he probably didn't want to share minutes. That's not UK ball. He'll be a rich man in three months, top 5 pick.

If you don't like arrogance I don't know how you even watch basketball. That kind of arrogance is what sets most people from the others.

Why do some people have to turn everything into "Cal is a genius?"

Did Russell have any issues? Ever? The worst thing he did was say he couldn't be guarded. You think Cal just saw all the arrogance the kid hadn't even displayed?

Russel wanted to come to UK bad. He and dakari Johnson were close friends and wanted to play together. But cal never reached out to Russell due to 2 reasons. Cal wanted Mudiay and Booker and thought he had both locked up. And did until the academic troubles forced Mudiay to stay in Texas just to stay eligible.

I watch a LOT of basketball, and respectively disagree with you. Look at our players...what sets them apart? Certainly not arrogance. Marshall Henderson comes to mind. Russell is a great player, no question there. I was just pointing out that Cal has an uncanny knack for choosing which players will represent KY, who are not selfish, and will be true team players. A lot of people were all over him for not offering Chris Walker...look how that turned out. Character and ability is what sets most players apart.
