So Holgerson needs until the spring game to decide and Rhule is going to wait months to decide? Doesn't sound believable. What's so hard about the decision other than waiting until the Saban dominoes fall?
It says 2 weeks or 1 month (~4 weeks). That's mid-February at the latest, not that big of a deal.
We don’t even know what role he would serve so why are people bent out of shape? If he’s a special assistant or analyst, I don’t think there’s a specified number allowed, so he’s not taking a job that would otherwise be filled
Don't fret if not added in the next month would mean longer than mid-feb to me.....
This would be my thinking. There will be some jobs open that would give him a nice payday and the top job.

That's what I was thinking. He likes the opportunity, but he's going to wait and see exactly how everything shakes out. A lot of openings right now- NFL and college. When those jobs get filed, it could create a job opening that he would be interested in.
 Some anyways. Lol.Or a OC job .if he accepts Rhules offer it’s for an Analyst position . No reason not to wait.
It doesn't seem Rhule-like to be concentrating on just Holgerson. I'm guessing Rhule has feelers out to other folks as well.
I certainly hope so and think so. He knows Satt isn’t cutting it, which is good.
If it's analyst no big deal. People keep speculating its more than that. This Saban coaching shakeup will be done in less that a month. There would be no reason to need more time than that for a coaching spot.
The other thing that happens on this board that it is always worst case scenario. 2 to 4 weeks means six weeks or longer. Why couldn’t it just be two weeks or less?
I still believe the QB coach will be Glen Thomas with Pittsburgh in the playoffs at the moment.
That's why I was hoping the Steelers would be out of the playoffs so we would get clarification. Sounds like they pushed that game back a day so a longer wait.
If we got this Glen Thomas guy as the qb coach then Holgerson could wait all spring to decide as an analyst and I wouldn't have a problem. But the sooner the better.
It’s the Nebraska fan way. Like the 85 scholarship limit that is brought up on a regular basis. We need to stress about every little detail for August right now.
Well good to hear that Holgerson is still a possibility. I thought he was pretty much out of the picture given everything went radio silent. But it's also clear that he's waiting to see if something better comes along with the coaching changes underway.

Sometimes I think Nebraska fans enjoy being miserable and unhappy. We’ve had a lot of bad football to endure the last decade or so. But there are those who are still unhappy when something good happens. Like a win doesn’t actually count unless it’s done the ‘Nebraska’ way. Whatever that is. Or somehow it’s a bad thing that we signed the #1 QB recruit in the country. Etc etc etc. Like there is always something out there to bitxh about. But it’s doubtful that we will ever have a 60-3 stretch like we did in the 90s (aka Kansas state ‘decade of dominance’

Pick your poison. Either the HC will hire bank tellers and golf pros who will be here tomorrow, or he will go after analysts and assistant coaches who have experience and maybe pro football and HC experience, which may take a few weeks to finalize. Either way people are going to *****.
Sigh. If you have an opportunity to add more expertise, you do it. It doesn’t mean that Satterfield is getting judged on what would have been (had nobody left) 2022’s 4th and 5th string qb, 3rd and 4th string RB, and 2nd and 3rd string WRs can do in Satts offense. But maybe you weren’t paying attention?
Glenn Thomas would make sense. He was brought in to improve the Steelers passing game, sort of an assistant offensive coordinator to the worst OC in the NFL at that time, Matt Canada. He's worked with Rhule and Satterfield before. I would hope that the Steelers are going to bring in a new OC next year and Thomas's position would be eliminated.
You must not be familiar with this board, there are a group of posters who will act like it is the end of the world if it doesn’t happen right now.
Anyone else just wait for HBK to give an update instead of going to Twitter or whatever the **** it’s called these days?
Anyway, hope this happens. I think Rhule had a different OC at Baylor during the turnaround there. He definitely needs help here.

My thoughts, a lot dominos still falling. Think he wants to wait till the dust settles and see if there’s better opportunity/offer out there.
His OC at Baylor was Glen Thomas.That is who I think will be the new QB coach and maybe pass game Coordinator.
