Haters of any coach only appear when they are not happy with the number of wins delivered. Let WV lose two of their remaining games and the haters will make their appearance on this board. They mysteriously stay in the closet with wins. Funny how that works. Warez
Don would never say anything demeaning about anyone publicly. If the team was 1-7 he would say they had to rebuild the entire defense. Anyone falling for this is truly gullible. If Dana was a true West Virginian well than that would be different. It will be interesting to see how many vacant seats there will be on Dana's bandwagon this time next week after Strong takes him to school in Austin.
If Dana gets schooled by Strong...............the Dana haters will be in evidence. For that matter if any coach schools Dana from here to seasons end.................Look, fans want (no........demand) wins. What Anthony Becht said last night was an endorsement of the current program. He said the defense that WVU has built is perfect for the pass happy Big 12. It's hard to argue with that. Probably the most pass happy team in our league is Texas Tech and we shut them down convincingly. Tech has scored tons of points on everyone else including Arizona State, Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Texas, but only 17 points against WVU and 7 of those came against our second tier players late in the game.
But Becht was a former player so many might say: What do you expect him to say? The same for Nehlen. Surely, they are prejudiced. So, let's just look at the facts:
There has definitely been a major upgrade on defense (points allowed per game), we have one 11 of our last 13 games including a bowl game, we are rated in the top 20 by most polls, we have sold out all of our home games, we have the best offensive line in at least a decade, we have great coaches in Adams, Crook, Tall, and Seider and we have a top rated quarterback in Will Grier waiting in the wings. And this, admittedly, is a rebuilding year! To top it all off, Dana was even wearing a suit when interviewed before the Oklahoma State game. That did it for me. I say meet all his demands and give him 5 more years. He deserves it!!!!!

Good way to judge WVU's defense: How it does against its opponent's season average. Gibby got an A nearly every game out in that category.

Oklahoma State, as we all know, was an indictment of the offense and 3 turnovers that cost 17 points, not the defense. What defense not named Alabama can stop a team 3 times when the ball is turned over inside the 10?
