I have to think his welcome at Florida is about worn about despite their many Targets. Would you take him back as head coach if the Leach experiment fizzles out?

Not a chance. He’s a slightly more talented version of Manny Diaz. He’d come back for the paycheck and then be gone as soon as the next opportunity arrived

No. Appreciate what he did for us when he was here, except for being more focused on job hunting than coaching football in November. But you can’t go back. A coach’s 2nd stint at a school is almost never as good as his first was.

Not right now anyways. We’re too deep into building towards a pass-first offense. Mullen comes in and we have another couple years or so of resetting back to a Mullen style team. Then again we’re probably going to have a rebuild after Leach leaves regardless.

I’d take him back as long he had and maintained the fire that he had in the beginning to prove himself as a successful Head coach.

Nope. Leach is going to make me pull my hair out one game but the next game he may shock the world and give me a thrill money can't buy. I'll take the lows with the highs.

Dan would adjust his offense to the talent he has at the time. He went Air Coryell in 2015 for Dak. If he inherited an Air Raid offense from his predecessor, he would adapt until he got his players in. But, he is not coming back here.

Take him back? Dude, you know he went home from the party with another man, right? Left us there to drive home alone. Took the dog with him, too.

Don’t be that guy. That birch is history.

Yes, we could do a lot worse

I look at his hiring as a business decision, not a relationship.

I mean, I think we can do better, but we could certainly do a lot worse too. If circumstances worked out and he seemed like the best option I wouldn't mind hiring him back. But only with a huge buyout.

As said above, my biggest problem with Mullen was his inability to upset better teams. I also think his offense doesn't have many years left before it becomes obsolete. Then what does he do?

You can never hire him back here. We’d be the most p***ywhipped program in the history of the SEC.

Absolutely not. That ***** left us for a rich dude in jorts.

I'd take him back in a New York minute. We were the perfect fit for each other. We have a round peg right now. Heck make him the AD too so Cohen couldn't f#%€ up. There is no IF with Leach, it's already fizzled out

His offense fits our state's QB talent. We need to be running read option and the speed option with a large QB who can occasionally hit the deep ball. We need to be able to run QB power on 3rd and 4th and short.

This guy gets it! We were a perfect fit for each other. We had too many idiots that couldn't see it that kept him looking.

That’s not why he kept looking. He was trying to trade us up from the moment he got here.

Which is fine, by the way, it works out for both of us. But after they trade you up there’s no letting them back in the house once the new girl turns out to be a weight gainer.

No, that's what you idiots want to think. It salves your consciences. The fact is you did the same thing to us our forefathers did with McKeen.

Who is you, Jimmy? I was a huge supporter of Mullen the entire time he was here. He had his flaws but he was the hottest date we’d ever danced with.

But once he snagged with that Florida chick in the halter top with the bad tattoos I said we’ll never dance that way again.

After we had people openly talking about cheating on him. We are getting our just desserts. That being said the Cohen experiment should be over. Make him AD for baseball if you want. But he is inept in every other sport. He should never be allowed to have any input at all about anything unless it is baseball, and that only about actual BASEBALL. Don't let him anywhere game operations in any sport.

We ran him off. Many had been trying even before 2014. I don't blame him at all for looking. I said so at the time. I hate it that I was right.

We can agree here for sure. We did have a ton of people complaining about Mullen the whole time he was putting up the best decade in our history.

But that’s not why he left.

Mullen never saw himself as the Mississippi State University Football Coach. He saw himself as the Mississippi State University Football Coach FOR NOW. Same as all of them except Rocky, Croom, and Jackie.

I’m only OK with being a Stepping Stone if someone is stepping to a Top 15 job, which Mullen did. Even so, you never take them back.

Rocky yes, and we fired him one year too soon. I'll always wonder about that. If Croom had won he would have been at Alabama in a heart beat. As for Jackie, we were last chance U for him. If we had treated Mullen right he would still be here, and Arkansas' Jefferson would be the QB. We would be Top 10 at worst.

Top 10 at worst, huh? Mullen never had a Top 10 team at MSU in 9 years, so I’d call that a hell of a stretch.

If Croom had won what? A few games?

How many seasons did it take Mullen to defeat the same number of top 25 teams here that leach has so this season? Time really is a flat circle for state fans

Bill you know absolutely nothing. Mullen had the support of everyone. Hell we offered him damn near 6MM to stay! Just cause you saw a few message board or Twitter post means Nothing.
Dan chose to leave

But much like your other subjects you comment on you know absolutely nothing

You are acting like a scorned lover. In fact, you have literally compared MSU to a scorned lover in multiple posts. Mullen's not coming back, so the whole discussion is moot, but get some help. Its OK to not be OK.
