I was very confused initially as I was misremembering Nebraska's former coach Danny Langsdorf as Lanning. I was like "why is Oregon hiring Nebraska's old OC?" 🤣

Wow. Wasn’t he also prematurely reported as Head Coach for Oklahoma a couple weeks ago?

Yeah, I think Lanning's agent is going to keep telling the media that he's been hired as a head coach somewhere, until somebody finally hires him. It gets his name out there at least.

Do not know a single thing about him, but the south, versus the Pacific Northwest, is just about as different as you can possibly get when it comes to cultures and ideals. Good luck with that coach.

Great move for him, it's a lottery ticket, but Oregon is taking a HUGE gamble here.

Awesome for him but horrible fit.

This will not go well. The good news is that it is not a high pressure gig.

Yeah, you'd think one of these times, Oregon would hire a West Coast guy who wants to stay there. Lanning will likely bolt for an SEC job in a few years.

Right? I mean is it that hard to hire the right fit? Even if it doesn't work, at least hire a guy that "fits"

I have my doubts on Frost being here after next year and could see him going back to being an OC somewhere to rehab, then end back up at Oregon as head coach and being more successful than his NU career. Would only be fitting for Husker fans to watch it work everywhere else but here.
