I'm a moderate, and probably have more issues with the left than I do the "normal" right ... the "normal" right referencing what existed before the Trump psychosis parasite entered their noggins ... but I also hold some rather leftist views that preclude me from being a traditional conservative (vehemently non-religious, MUCH different understanding of the 2nd Amendment, ally of the LGB community, etc.). For me, this isn't a great win, other than the fact that it's a step, hopefully, in flushing Trump and his legacy from the books.
While some could justify/rationalize following him because the other side was supposedly so bad, or because everyone allegedly stinks and does bad stuff and they're not judging him as a person, but only on his policies ... I lack that lack of humanity. Legitimately bad people aren't to be entrusted with power. Now I know this is when the MAGAts chime in with "so and so did a bad thing" or "all of this institution is against us and bad" ... but most of that is generally good people doing a bad thing, or good people trying to do the right thing and it turns out wrong, or good people doing mostly good things that have some unintended bad consequences, or even good people doing a bad thing because they see no other choice to get some good outcome ... it's not right, but it's not the same as a legitimately evil person being given power.
But there will be work to be done to head off a turn to the progressive left, even after/while trying to reintegrate MAGAts into normal society.
Dems need to understand that this wasn't some overwhelming acceptance of Dem/leftist/progressive ideals ... it wasn't some call to shower us with socialist ideology, and wokeness ... it was just a realization by folks that they had enough of the crazy and they wanted to get away from it. This is their opportunity to reestablish normalcy. Decency. Let's see if they seize that opportunity, or if they feel empowered to try to pull us all way to the left.
