He's 18-18, 214 yards, 3 TDs and 12 first downs in overtime. Talk about a clutch player.

That's one of reasons I never liked Romo. You could count on a fumble or interception when it mattered most. He was anti clutch. Dak has that will to win factor. And he had the talent and the talent around him to make that happen. He didn't have the talent around him at state to win the biggest ones.

I would imagine they were all wins.
My issue with Dak is he gives up the ball too often at the goal line, both his and the other teams.
I called the fumble before they even lined up on the QB sneek.
A team with Zeke shouldn't have their QB sneek it.

I think they managed to lose one of those games. 3-1 record, if I'm remembering correctly.

That and a lack of his old running game is what is killing his QBR. He’s fumbled 6 times and thrown 4 picks….and still isn’t up to 100 rushing yards total on the year (also at only 3.2 YPC which is a career low). I expect the fumble problem to level out as the season gets further along, and I know at least a couple of his INT’s weren’t his fault.

All wins?
3-1
Wins:
Philadelphia (2X) - 2016, 2018
New England - 2021

Loss:
Houston - 2018

In the loss against Houston, Dak was 3-3 for 29 yards. On a 3rd and 1, gave it to Zeke for no gain. Dallas punted and their D couldn't stop Deandre Hopkins. Couple of passes and Houston was in FG range. 36 yarder sealed it.

That's WAY too many fumbles. He’s got to protect the ball better.

This goes back to a couple weeks ago when I said QBR is a garbage stat. Him running more would not have helped the Cowboys win a single game they have played, so a stat that measures that lack of running is garbage. The goal is to win ballgames, and he has done everything in his power to do so and he’s playing the position as well as anyone in the league and if a stat doesn’t reflect that then it’s garbage and shouldn’t be concerned with again. What does the person with the highest QBR after 17 games get, a set of steak knives?

I don’t get what you’re obsession with QBR is.

How do you know him running more wouldn’t have helped them win (or win by more points)? Dallas could very easily be 3-3 instead of 5-1 right now….they were very fortunate to come out on top in 2 OT games.

QBR is all about situational running / passing success. If the QB runs for 10 yards on 3rd and 9, it helps the rating. If you pass for 15 yards on 3rd and 20, it doesn’t help it. A 10 yard pass completed on 1st and 10 of a tie game helps the rating. A 10 yard pass completed on 1st and 10 of a game where you are down 3 TD’s in the 3rd quarter doesn’t help it as much. If you fumble or throw a pick, it hurts the rating big time.

Because of all the above, the beauty of the rating is that you can’t cheat it, and you can’t do any garbage time stat padding to manipulate it. You can’t hide those 6 fumbles, no matter how much you want to or how much you think they don’t reflect how good a player Dak is. They happened. You’re only saying its a garbage stat because it doesn’t tell you what you want to hear about Dak. It’s also not going to tell you a complete story about Dak or anyone else until much later in the season. If he still only has those 6 fumbles after 17 games, you’ll see a much higher QBR than now.

And as far as what they win for having the highest QBR? Well, for 4 of the last 5 years it’s been the NFL MVP award. Slight upgrade from the knives, I suppose. But anyway, keep believing that it’s just a garbage stat, if you wish.

His teammates already followed him but after yesterday they might run through walls. Pros don't follow perfect QBs, they follow guys that make everyone around them a winner.

Because i saw what they looked like when he broke his ankle. Nothing wrong with him getting outside the pocket to pick up yards when they are there but they’re paying him millions for his arm, not his leg.
I see things for what they are, not I want them to be.

But you want to know exactly why it’s a garbage stat? Because ahead of Dak F’n Prescott are Jameis Winston, Derek Carr, Ryan Tanehill, Kirk Cousins, Jacoby Brisset, and Joe Burrow. I believe my eyes and none of those are playing better than Dak Prescott, hence, garbage stat. Dak hasn’t padded jack **** this year. Come back when you have an actual argument.

Glad to see this...

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott should be available in two weeks when the team plays its next game. Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that the MRI exam Prescott had showed no tear in his right calf.

This sums up most of you guys outlook on life. Ridiculous stat. Perfection. But you have to find something else to attempt to trash him and bring him closer down to your level of pathetic misery.

It's the football equivalent of pointy elbows.

KJS said it best. There are winners and there are losers. Dak is a winner. Where does that leave you.

All guys who don’t have 6 fumbles and 10 total instances of coughing up the football.

This isn’t hard. Look at Matt Stafford’s stats compared to Dak. Total passing yards almost identical. Total rushing yards with a slight nod to Dak, but mostly negligible. Passer rating almost identical. TD / INT exactly identical. Yet Stafford has the highest QBR in the league and Dak’s is almost 20 points below his. Why? Stafford only has one fumble…Dak has 6. Since you seem to be conveniently ignoring this key fact, I’ll explain it to you like you are 5. Fumbling the football is without question the worst thing any offensive football player can ever do on the football field. Period. Elite athletes who are better in every facet than other guys on the depth chart in other ways get consistently benched or flat out cut or traded from the roster if they fumble. Dak has done it an unusually high number of times in his first six games.

Everything about his career says this is probably an aberration that will regress to the mean over the course of the season. But if you (and others) absolutely insist upon comparing this isolated 6 game sample size with the rest of the league while throwing out the rest of his career (which I don’t agree is a prudent move as I’ve said repeatedly), he has not been a Top 10 QB over that stretch because of the fumbles. It’s actually quite a testament to how well he’s thrown the football that he is still in the top half of the league in QBR even with the fumbles….averaging one fumble per game is normally quite the death knell for the QBR for most any other player. aGAIN, it will get better for him and worse for other QB’s ahead of him as the season gets further along, but the QBR is telling the whole story that you don’t want to hear for whatever reason.

Talk about a clutch player.

I always felt like we had a shot to convert any 3rd down when he was here. 3rd and 2 - 3rd and 20... didn't matter. You just knew Dak was going to give you a chance.

Like that 24 yd pass on 3rd & 25 to get them back in FG range Sunday. Incredible play. But that's just Dak being Dak. We've been seeing that stuff since 2013.

Like I’m 5? Nice! They still aren’t playing better football than Dak. I never said he was a top 10 QB over the course of his career, I’m completely honest when I say hes been a 15-18th ranked QB over those 5 years. Yes fumbles are bad, but not the worst thing a player can do, that would be a pick 6. But through 6 games this year he has been a top 5 QB, stats be damned. It’s a small sample size. It’s like looking at a closer’s ERA in baseball, he has one bad inning where he gives up a slam, his ERA never recovers even if he is money the rest of the year. So I don’t look at a reliever’s era. Yes Dak needs to do a much better job handling the ball, but 3 of those fumbles, if memory serves, were from bad snaps. Something he can’t control, but Dak gets the blame. Dak has more than made up for his fumbles with his phenomenal QB play. I watch a lot of football, and my eyes tell me a lot more than some arbitrary number.

And you want to know when a player has the most fumbles? When they run with the ball!! And you complain about his fumbles, but want him to run more??

Formed my opinion of Dak in the 2013 Egg Bowl....It hasn't changed. He's not perfect but he's a winner and a leader and I want him on my team whenever the chips are down.

A lot to unpack here….

First, a Top 15-18 QB? That is complete unadulterated horse ****. Dak has been way better than that. Top 6-7 at absolute worst. Your argument that he’s playing better than the whole league this year but has not even been Top 14 in the past 5 years is self-contradictory and makes zero sense whatsoever. Moving on….

Pick 6’s worse than fumbles? Nope. QB can make a dead nuts perfect throw and still have it result in a pick 6 if the receiver doesn’t do his part or if a defender makes a great play. Pick 6’s in the NFL are largely luck based depending on a multitude of factors….batted balls at the LOS, QB being hit from blind side right at release, WR falling down, and other unpredictable plays being the key catalysts more often than not. No NFL QB ever throws the KJ Costello special where he just soft tosses a 5 yard lollipop right to a blitzing linebacker that is already running towards the end zone. Fumbles are far worse due to them being an error of negligence, and any coach would tell you that.

Dak getting a bum deal for being charged with fumbles on bad snaps? Nope. Those are charged to the center.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/commen...urce=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

And your memory doesn’t serve you correctly. In the Giants game, Dak took a perfect snap when they were near the goal line that he flat out just dropped, then he was lackadaisical in getting on top of it and they lost possession.

And I never said he should run more. I said that YOU don’t know that him running more won’t help them win more games. And you don’t. Neither do I….it may make the offense worse. But Dallas hasn’t always been some unstoppable offensive juggernaut all season. They beat up on two awful teams in the Eagles and Giants, then looked extremely pedestrian the entire game against San Diego and in spurts against Carolina and New England. A theoretically 100% pre-injury Dak would have certainly added another element in all those games, but it’s a moot point because Dallas is either coaching him not to run or he isn’t as fast / athletic as he was pre-injury (or both). Regardless, him not running it as much isn’t what’s hurting the QBR the most, it’s the fumbles.
